I haIraqi authorities want the U.S. government to sever all contracts in Iraq with Blackwater USA within six months. They also want the firm to pay $8 million in compensation to families of each of the 17 people killed when its guards sprayed a traffic circle with heavy machine gun fire last month.

The demands _ part of an Iraqi government report examined by The Associated Press _ also called on U.S. authorities to hand over the Blackwater security agents involved in the Sept. 16 shootings ..

I have no problem with this. I think this is only right.

What those Blackwater employees did was wrong and just showed the diregard they felt for the lives of other people. But, what remains to be seen is how the US administration takes this, they'll probably still fight to keep Blackwater there.

Why, I don't know. I can hardly believe that the US doesn't have enough soldiers to take over the security work that Blackwater is doing 10 times over.

But then again, Blackwater is probably greasing a lot of palms in Washington.
