I thought this was interesting, archeologists made this discovery by diving in the Arendsee lake in northern Germany, they discovered a dugout, a fish catching fence, some boats etc. which they say are dated to the 14th century.

Arendsee, Germany (dpa) - Archaeologists have made significant mediaeval finds in the northern German lake, the Arendsee, that reveal fishing activities linked to a nearby monastery.


It says they raised the dugout, which brings me to my question.


What is a dugout?
