I'm curious as to how these genes can be immediately declared 'extraterrestrial', when there are no extraterrestrial genes to compare them to.
...unless of course this Human Genome Project is in possession of some extraterrestrial genes. But where did they get them?

This article just blew my mind. How do they know? As a poster above me said how do they know unless they have something to compare it to? I call BS!

Have you ever wondered about the shape & configuration of a human foot as compared to a chimp, ape, orangutan, etc? Our feet are designed to hold us upright, walk, run.. I know that there are a million people standing in line to scream "evolution," & to a certain point perhaps, & I respect your position, but hear me out please. The number of chromosomes differs by 1 between the chimp family & us as humans. Our hands don't look like our feet. So where or when did we get them?

Look at all the nearest distant deceased relatives of ours... the "Hobbit," one meter tall, Flores, Indonesia, 10,000 years ago. This is only one example. In the ages long past, there were sometimes more than one species of hominids running from tigers, & apparently at times more than two!

I'm no doctor nor podiatrist, but I'm here to question the issue about our feet differing from that of the nearest creature to us. I am very serious about this, & wonder how it fits in with this DNA finding. It just dosen't seem to add up respectively. So where, when, why & how did we inheirit our feet? Anyone else have a clue, link, doctor's degree, or crystal ball?

The whole point here is creationism, versus Darwinism. We will soon have to submit a hair for the DNA bank about 2015 or so. There are experiments going on right now, especially cloning. Research the Jellyfish invasion to hurt the fishing industry. Lots of jelly fish popping up covering large spans, some of these fish are 400lbs. James Cameron just did a deep sea documentary on new species. He set out to find them for the first time due to a phenomena going on in the oceans right now. I feel as if someone is playing a Sid Meir Civilization game up there.
