I was browsing through youtube and came across this video of a deer killed with 5 legs. I side with the hunter on why he killed it, if it did manage to survive, you would not want the defective gene spreading.

Wonder if this is due to chemicals or something.

When is it open season on those type of people? We can't allow defects to have offspring, right?

I can see where the hunter's coming from, actually. That kind of mutation (whether from chemicals or if it was just a random gene mutation) would not help the deer population at all if the fawn was allowed to reach maturity and breed.

And I'm usually very anti-hunting (if the animal is killed for anything other than food), so this is a little boggling for me, to see myself typing that I agree with a hunter.

Nice picture. I have seen many 2 headed snakes as well. Seems odd since they are hatched.

Well I can honestly say that hunter was taught the right ways in life..
I have much respect for hunters who think in the ways of this man here.

He was doing the fawn a favor by taking it out, and so that scientists can study and see whats going on here..

As it was an outcast from its own way of life.. Sad story really, but I think he did the right thing..

What a waste! I doubt they'd eat him, maybe just stuff the animal or use other parts.

...correct if I'm wrong, but things like that are they not caused by the same process that causes conjoined twins? I don't think it has to do with genes or mutations, it just randomly occurs when cells don't split fully.

Once again, correct me if I'm wrong.

My Opinion

Nothing would be wrong with the Deer's meat, it would still be good.

Nature has a way of trying to things, sometimes the adaptation is useful and

other times like this for instance the adaptation is not so useful.

I have seen a cat with a third eye on it's head and a two headed trout before

also.

Anyway thats my opinion

Sorry, couldn't resist.

And, there would be nothing
wrong with the meat.

It looks like a genetic defect.

I'm wondering why it would
have starved, though.

Deer don't have a "pack"
mentality.
They forage.

Please don't hate me,
Lex
