Ok I concede...I saw lee marvin say he served with bob with my own eyes and ears...it turns out he was lying..

Bob Keeshan, later famous as television's "Captain Kangaroo," also enlisted in the U.S. Marines, but too late to see any action during World War II. Keeshan was born on 27 June 1927 and enlisted two weeks before his 18th birthday, months too late to have taken part in the fighting at Iwo Jima. A 1997 interview with Keeshan noted that he "later enlisted in the U.S. Marines but saw no combat" because, as Keeshan said, he signed up "just before we dropped the atom bomb

Shiver me timbers!!

He and I used to sail the seven seas together. Yargh.
He wasn't worth a shyte as a pirate, so he took up
children's television.
I though he'd lost his ping pong balls, but he was
fine man.

Fifteen men on a dead mans chest,
Hi Ho, Blow the man down, laddies!

~^~

for sure...(according to that yahoo.news story)
B.Keesham, aka clarabell...created the character in1948
and played for 5 seasons.
One accomplishment- overlooked-
is that the Clara-Bell Clown was the 'inspiration' for
the 'FANNY PACK' that would appear 30 years later.->

*remember the primitive, box, worn at the waist, that held all his clown paraphenalia...& that bulbous bicycle horn....?evolved via Harpo Marx?

**any how, i'm saddened.

(BK. wasn't anywhere near my 'DEAD-POOL' List for 2004)
