Though I haven't brought this up much on ATS, I have talked about it with some of my friends and family, and they all thought that I was just paranoid. Who's paranoid now? What I am talking about is Vladimir Putin's plan to set up a Russian dictatorship, and restoring Russia as a world power. Today, he began one of the final stages of his master plan. First, let me go over the stages of his plan, and where they are today

1. Eliminate all opposition: This is the obvious goal for any dictator . This had been demonstrated by the deaths of former Russian Spy Alexander Litvinenko, who was stongly opposed to Putin's government, and the shooting death of Anna Politkovskaya, the Russian reporter who was a strong critic of Putin's policy in Chechnya. Putin is also trying to scilence Garry Kasparov, the current opposition leader to Vladimir Putin.

2. Bulid up the military- Russia has nearly quadrupled its spending on the military under Putin. They are also resuming war games, something that has not been done since the days of the USSR

3. Bulid up an Alliance with China- Russia+China as allies equals a big problem for the U.S., especially since these two nations' policies differ from ours. Putin is working to bulid an alliance with the Chinese

4. Establish himself as sole ruler- This is the process that began today. Putin announced that he was considering running for the position of Prime Minister of Russia. In Russia, the Prime Minister shares power with the President. All Putin has to do is make sure one of his lyal supporters wins the next Presidential election. Putin will easily win the position of PM, because he has an 80% approval rating, a must have for a wannabe dictator.

I feel that Putin's official dictatorship will take place next year, and will be a major problem for our next president. Please provide your insight.

IMO Putin is building Russia up to be a major world player again, but no, he's not moving to take total control of the country. And if he were planning something like this, then I would think he'd be a whole lot less obvious about it. Too many Russians remember the Soviet and Stalin days, and I doubt they would just sit around letting Putin and his government run over them again.
You are reading too far into unrelated events.

Scully out.

But that's the point, the people don't care! They love him, and would love to see him remain in power for a long time. That's how the most successful dictators remain in power, they win over their people.

Well, I think he is a very dangerous person.

There have been numerous deaths that I believe are 100% linked to him.

Not only are they playing war games with other countries, but they are toying with the US and some of our allies by purposely flying into our air space, only to be escorted right back out.

Then there is the "national reproduce day" that he thought up in order to repopulate his country.

Ive been to Russia, back in 93, so it holds a place in my heart. I just really believe the guy is a madman and is capable of anything. I often believe he suffers from.......little * syndrom LOL

Even the mainstream people freely admit that democracy in Russia is dead. Quite frankly, I wouldn't worry about it, if Russia makes an expansionist drive they are risking nuke war with the other nuclear powers.

I don't think Russia is that stupid.

I was going to post here and say that I thought it was silly. I'm glad I didn't. A few minutes later I found this.

I have not thought about this much, I have seen on news where elections were FIXED. I thought, "oh crap, its cold war all over again." Tuns out might not be another cold war, but full out war. I have seen their newest fighter jet. Its like "WTF BBQ!~" At medium speeds its is plainly the most maneuverable jet made by man. Its almost like a delta wing, but has a nose, and two small fins at the front that provide as a control surface. It can basically do flips! Ok the flipping show part isnt the problem, its the engineering, its GOOD. Maybe not F22 raptor good, but maybe 'good enough'. They Russians have made plenty of 'good enough' weapons. AK47 anyone? Accuracy 'good enough', damage and caliber, HEAVY. Their engineering thinking is close to the Germans. Thats good enough in my opinion. Them teaming with china would mean "omfg wtf crap" from both sides of the ocean. China would be a good strategic righting force. We would have stuff to deal with from the left, and right. Oh crap basically. USA is no doubt worlds strongest army, but russia+china, is wtf stronger.

Lets look at history though, the germans in WW1 fought off the whole world. "Never has a country fought the whole world and stood her ground!" Many germans after the war marveled in this fact. In ww2 again, it was a challenge to take them down, with 3 countries, including US. So lets not count the situation before it happens, america has won every war for the last 200 years, I have faith in ol sam if this turned from bad to worse.

As for the next president, I really don't care republican or demi, I just don't want a TARD for president. Someone with brains who knows action (justified action that is).
