Strong earthquake shakes Sumatra

(CNN) -- A strong earthquake rattled western Indonesia Tuesday morning, striking off the coast of Sumatra, the U.S. Geological Survey reported, prompting authorities to temporarily issue a tsunami alert.

The epicenter for the 6.2-magnitude quake was about 90 miles (145 km) west-southwest Bengkulu and struck around 10:44 a.m. (11:44 p.m. ET Monday.)

Yeah, i dont think we issued a warning for this one in the end. The models came back as all clear for a TSunami threat. However I guess other agencies may have thought otherwise
