Wow, I was pretty sure this Israeli story was propaganda but this really takes the cake. "Reports of our bombing are greatly exaggerated".

Bounce that off of this article :

...The latest twist in an increasingly-bizarre story came Saturday when Syrian Vice-President Faruq Al Shara insisted that an isolated airstrike by Israeli jets three weeks ago - which US and British media said targeted a nuclear research facility - had, in fact, hit the ACSAD facility.

"The images prove that the target that was attacked by air force jets in Syria was an academic research centre for the study of arid soil," Shara told a news conference in Damascus...

Sounds like the Syrian VP has difficulty remembering the story

"The Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) in Syria called the reports of an Israeli attack on its facility in Dir a-Zour completely "made-up" and claimed that it only learned of the purported attack after seeing satellite images of its property and reading about the attack in the news."

They saw the satellite images that, presumptively, were in the Israeli media.

"One of the interviewees claimed to have heard sonic booms during the alleged Israeli attack, but said he did not hear explosions on the ground."

Israeli jets appear to have done a flyby.

Who REALLY has this story wrong, Israel, or Syria?

I am in serious doubt to any story of this incident right now.

If the Israelis started the story, and it was untrue...

Why would the Syrian VP announce it to the media in Damascus?

Do you see what I mean? If you read the story I linked,

It also states what your article says regarding the blame on the Israeli media, though yours fails to mention the Syrian VP's statement.

How can both be true?

They can't,

Neither side is telling the truth yet, and I doubt any of them will.
