JR- looking forward to the book.

My father holds a PhD in Wildlife Sciences and has been reading about the UFO phenomenon long before I got into it.

here's a random scary thought: what if there are ETs here, but also some other quantum presence masquerading as it as well? who knows?

I found this thought of yours quite interesting and passed it on to dear old dad who also found it thought-provoking.

Emerging sciences such as quantum mechanics are currently testing our limits of understanding and knowledge. Perhaps in the future they might shed light on such an alien presence.

Jacques Valle wrote: "that the human belief.. is being controlled and conditioned, mans concepts are being rearranged, and we may be headed for a massive change of human attitude towards paranormal abilities and ET life."

Valle was never satisfied by a "nuts & bolts" explanation of things either. Are we looking for nuts & bolts when there is nothing there? Or perhaps only a few vessels or alien probes have made the trip at some fraction of the speed of light. Everything else is this quantum intelligence masquerading as these other aliens. Considering the age of the universe we could be facing two groups of aliens:

1) Some race approx 10,000 years ahead of use using advanced extensions of our own technologies.

2) Another group perhaps millions or billions of years ahead who have left their physical bodies and somehow downloaded their consciousness into the quantum vacuum and able to really play with our perception.

Yet the "physically missing" part of the experience makes me think perhaps the super advanced aliens are in fact in another dimension. They can access our world but we can't access or perceive theirs. Like the Flatland analogy of a 2-dimensional being escaping a box (and mystifying his fellow flatlanders) by going "up" into a 3rd dimension.

Quantum Mechanics is more than a hundred years old and harldy is an "emerging science". It's a pretty well developed field (however still capable of giving the student a headache or two).

en.wikipedia.org...
The history of quantum mechanics began essentially with the 1838 discovery of cathode rays by Michael Faraday, the 1859 statement of the black body radiation problem by Gustav Kirchhoff, the 1877 suggestion by Ludwig Boltzmann that the energy states of a physical system could be discrete, and the 1900 quantum hypothesis by Max Planck

Now, to your statement:
Perhaps in the future they might shed light on such an alien presence.

Well I know that you went on speculating about other dimensions, but I find that such generic statements about quantum this and quantum that are hardly of substance. By the way quantum mechanics does not typically include higher dimensions anyway

cheers!

I guess it depends on how one defines an emerging science. Certainly it does have over 100 years of history as you mentioned, however (per the wiki page) quantum mechanics wasn't totally accepted by the mainstream physicist crowd until well into the 1900s....after enough evidence showed it to be an accurate predictor of behavior in physical systems.

Sorry I did make a vague statement but the point is that while the foundations of quantum mechanics began long ago, it's potential is still not understood by students and physicists alike today. For example, how would one know in 1920 how the quantum principle would begin to get woven into the computer field when computers didn't really exist in 1920?
