Two Quakes Strike New Caledonia; Tsunami Alert Issued (Update1)

...The first earthquake struck 155 kilometers (95 miles) east of Tadine in the Loyalty Islands of New Caledonia, the USGS said. The quake's depth was 10 kilometers. Its magnitude was initially set at 6.6.

A second one struck in the vicinity about 35 minutes later with a magnitude of 6.6, the USGS said. The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the quake had a magnitude of 6.7 and issued an alert saying the temblor may have sparked a tsunami...
