I can't find my books but I am curious to know what the symbol is that shows a square or just the upward open triangle and a closed triangle facing the other way. Kind of like an evolution of a star.

edit: I believe this is within York Rite. And it is not just a triple tau as that is just a triangle with the symbol in it. The symbol I describe above is interested as I said almost like the next phase is a star.

I don't recall a symbol like that in the York Rite, but would definitely need a picture.

Here are a couple images which depict typical york rite symbols, (forgive me they are quite large):

It sounds like you are describing the symbol of the allied masonic degrees, the open compasses, as in a typical masonic insignia, over an inverted triangle, sometimes surmounted by a cross and crown.

Does that sound like it?
