How come the [size] brackets never work?

I find this happening constantly, and usually when they're really needed to cast reason into a deep and gloomy thread of irrational ignorance. Is there something we should know to ensure that they'll work, or is this a totally random thing? I've been experiencing it all year on several different PC's so I doubt it's just me?

Certain characters used in between will void them. For the most part, all punctuation marks are going to void the bbcode. Not sure why, but I've come to realize this over time.

This is correct. Any punctuation will keep the font size from working.

replace () with brackets

It seems to, except line spacing still fails, if you do a size smaller then normal.

Yeah, it's strange. All the other forums I've seen just let you highlight text and then apply the tag and it changes in full wysiwyg.

I figured it was something stupid like that.

yea thats a good workaround.
but i dont think its a forum bug. it happens on most other forums.
maybe its the code that limits this.
