I have a novel idea. Instead of trying to tear the Country apart and open the door for the Wolf Pack we call the Rest of the World; Why not find ways to bring us together for in "Unity There is Strength"?

Strange idea is it not? Our Founders kind of liked the notion though. Between elections our Leaders are supposed to lay Party Business aside and work for the Universal Good. How can we expect them to do that when We The People can't even have a civil discussion. We love the dirt and the mud slinging. We are the problem. Anything going on in the Government is a product of our own design.

The United States is not the Political Bickering we read on these boards and in the news. It is us. Anything that goes wrong is our fault. You don't heal a Family by tearing it apart. You find a way to pull it back together. Lefties, have you hugged a Righty today. Righties have you said something nice about a Lefty today. That would be a start. Stopping the lies would help as well. Oh, and don't forget to have a Libertarian to dinner, eh?

It is impossible to unite all people. Even families cannot unite their own families together. We are all too radically different from one another for all of us to be on the same page. I cant really see how it is the peoples fault for things that go wrong when we have a country already divided by different parties.

Ok so where are all the legal laws on seceding from the FED? Here is a good link. This guy basically says that to secede you must have approval of all the states and congress would be the approving authority.

"Unite" doesn't imply that we all agree on every issue...ATS is a good example of that, in fact. People here disagree, sometimes violently, but we're all members of a community with a common goal...the denial of ignorance. The same principle applies to countries....nobody (at least nobody in their right mind) expects 300,000,000 human beings to all be in perfect agreement on every issue...that doesn't stop us from uniting into a political entity known as "America", bound together by common ideals and common culture.

the link to FindLaw is a good one, but the situation that you're describing now (multilateral secession) isn't the same scenario put forth at the top of the thread. Multilateral secession requires the consent of the seceding states and the government from which they are seceding. There might be a scenario where the Federal government would allow certain states to leave the Union...but I really don't see the Federals authorities essentially agreeing to their own destruction by giving consent to all fifty states to pack up and leave.

There would be no reason significant enough to justify to most people secession, or revolution-except 1 economic.

contrary to popular belief, the people of the Soviet Union, in particular Russia-did not throw out the Communist government because they yerned for freedom and freedom of expression The only reason was the the military-industrial based economic model was broken, life was ok if you worked in the Nations nuclear, military, or space sector..but for the masses it really started to suck.

I think there is a similar trend in America today, in poor rural parts of the country the military is pretty much the only option for most people, if they're smart they'll probably wind up at a defense contractor.. In places like Conneticut or California- 'Blue States' this recent realestate crash has hit the middle class once again- it has forced the rents of decent apartments up by hundreds of dollars..you can have an income of 40-50k and still not be able to live in a decent 1 bedroom apartment, housing is run down. Teachers and cops can hardly afford a decent standard of living-thats unacceptable for any society. Americas debt, declining dollar, out-of-control military spending and corruption is killing the middle class. The situation will keep getting worse until people demand the end of the regime that becomes repressive.
