There have been nearly 3,000 cases in Northern Europe since July, which had fuelled fears of its UK arrival.

The discovery near Ipswich came as Surrey's foot-and-mouth protection zone was extended after a new case.

It seems that the Famers are in another spot of trouble, I am really starting to feel sorry for them now. I take it that this means prices for foreign Meat is going to rise, the amount of farmers in UK will fall, i am not completely clued up on the econemy, but i presume that this is going to effect it, am i right ?

There was a blue tongue disease that effected Deer, around ten or fifteen years ago in Missouri USA. People were finding dead deer near creaks and rivers with there tongues so swollen that they died of thirst. Nasty stuff, don't know if its related to this one though. It was bad.
