Has anybody seen this? This is the first time I'm coming across it.

Scientists are experimenting with a number of insects, hoping through genetic engineering to make them more farmer-friendly and less of a disease threat to some of the world's poorest populations.

Don't know if this is the right forum, but I'm sure the government is probably doing something behind the scenes.
Anyone Anyone???

Very nice!
The only thing like this I've heard about was the man-eating flies developed in Mexico-
- and viruses that are altered to act as semiconductors.

even if they become farmer friendly, they'll still be pests. Why don't they make it to where they leave us the Hell alone. especially here in ccolorado. We had that west nile thing going around like crazy.

Look what ABC just posted:

Insects could be used as Bio Weapons

I do not remember seeing Insect Repellent in the DOHD's Survival kit
