People keep saying that it's the school security, not the US government, who are to blame. But WTF: Campus security actually has discretion to taser students when they feel like it? Creepy.

Or did he ask about a secret society that the 1st and 2nd place man in the last 2 party election both belong to? ...before a mafia nod was given to shut him up.

Fascism.

He was disrupting a planned event.

Had he stood on a soap box in the campus center and spoke publicly and handed out pamphlets describing Kerry's affiliation with Skull and Bones or asked questions about why Kerry conceeded the election so quickly he would have been unmolested.

Many people have written and published books citing their beliefs regarding the power of Skull and Bones, and myrad other secret societies
whos memebers include the Bush's, Kerry, etc.

These books are available, the writers have not been tazed or jailed.

The punk violated the rules of the event, was asked to surrender the microphone, refused physically, and was tazed to make him comply.

He was not tazed for what he said, he was tazed for refusing the lawful orders of campus police.

Xtrozero, I think we all missed the part where he pushed forward in the line as it's not in the video, but it's my assumption that he wasn't too out of line as they allowed him to stay. Not only did they allow him to stay but they turned the entire focus of the forum over to him for five minutes. If that action didn't require his physical removal I see absolutely nothing after the video started which should have elevated this into a physical confrontation. Was the student a little overboard in his questioning...yes. Did the cops go a little overboard when they first grab him...yes. I do believe they were only going to escort him out. But their little excess made the whole situation erupt into what resulted into the tasering. It's interesting to me that we've had cameras in patrol cars for over a decade where they can study how to diffuse situations such as this, but rather than coming up with new psychological and non-violent ways to handle people, it seems departments around the country are demanding their officers to get more physical and they'll buy them the new "toys" with which they can do it. It's becoming more "I can grab this guy and if he resists I'll shock him" rather than "I can talk this guy down." It's my fear that this is the trend rather than the rare exception.

He wasn't asking a question, he was interrogating the guy. Then when police approached him he jumped around like an idiot towards the stage. I'm pretty sure you're not suppose to do that when police attempt to either arrest you, or remove you from someplace. He got what he deserved.

When I'm reading these posts I'm shocked how many people seem to be fine with tasering people for just asking questions!! How can this kind of violence be justified in any way? Has violence become a sport or how is this possible? I just don't get it.

Talk about an "inconvenient truth." The young man did resist (classic mistake), but should not have been tazered unless he posed a threat to the rent-a-cops or anyone else present. Has anyone made an attempt to identify the "black shirts" and/or pursue an objective investigation. The Rodney King beating was deplorable and sickening to watch, and frankly, I would equate the two. An effective technique is for bystanders to discreetly record the name tags and badge numbers of the officials involved. Clearly they were out of control. Senator Kerry is not to blame for this incident, but some will try to blame him in a conspiratorial way I am sure. The young man got out of line during his diatribe, but when confronted should have complied with the "authorities" present. I have been involved with civil protests since the '60's. Rule 1: Never confront a cop unless you want a busted head. Rule 2: Never raise your hands above your waist. Rule 3: Never raise your voice during a close quarters confrontation with cops (they go from zero to panic in about 1.5 seconds and are trained to respond with overwhelming force.) I know this from my training in crowd control. To me John Kerry and a white bread and mayonaise sandwich have about the same appeal
. Unfortunately, he will be at least partially blamed for part of this. My question is: "Will he have the moral courage to step forward and pursue justice for this young man?" I thought not. This whole sordid affair is but another example of "authority" gone out of control. Nuff said

You need felony assault and battery on a cop charges, too? If you did that almost anything the troglodytes did to you would be legally justified. I don't know about you, but .357 rounds don't feel good to me. Nor do boot stomps on my noggin:

Even though I really dislike Kerry I must say he did give an attempt to hear the kid out and after the 5 mins of just basically ranting and then saying he had 2 more questions on top of the first one that he had not even gotten to yet was when they decided enough was enough.
For the cops to just lead him out (female cop BTW) was not enough for him and so he continued to pull away and dance around in front screaming “why you arresting me?” over and over.

For those who think this was a totally fascist police state move I would like to ask just what in your mind would YOU conceder enough is enough when someone’s purpose is not to ask questions but to disrupt the process of others trying to ask questions.

I'm somewhat disturbed that ANY american can say that the treatment of this man is justifiable.

His treatment was extreme, violent, and 100% unnecessary.

He had passionate questions that he was prefacing with a statement related to a book. A book Kerry admitted to reading. They were exchanging dialogue.

The man stated his questions, with the support of the audience AND Kerry.

I would venture to say it is dellusional to say he was disturbing a planned event and should be tasered for it. He was engaging the speaker as allowed in this open forum. Longwinded? Sure. Criminal? Actionable? Absolutely not.

It wasn't until he was attacked that he started to freak out as anyone would do when an mass of power hungry, police academy drop out, rent a cops assault you for no reason.

The entire event was dispicable.

Is this the america we live in now?

Edit: Because I can't spell nor type apparently.
