Can't we have a anti Israel thread instead? That should be interesting!!!

Haha, that has been tried by a few people, me being one of them and it was anything but popular.
It wasnt a "I hate jews" type of thread either but no matter how you word it or or what point you try and make in it there are always the people that are going to call you a NAZI, Hitler, Jew hater or Anti-Semite.
Some countries even go as far as making it illegal, especially if you even question the "official" number of Jewish people that died in German concentration camps.
Yes its true, it is especially against the law to completely question the existence of the camps in Germany and the death camps in Poland. So
not only is it against the law to actually deny it occurred, it is also against the law to question the number that lost died in these camps.. Of course the number varies, depending on what decade it is, it was 3 million when I was in middle school (the early 80s) then it was 6 million in the mid to late 90's, now I believe the official number is 12 million.
Every decade the number seems to double
Why am I even bringing this up in this thread? Well, many of the posters in this thread have been comparing Bush to Hitler and the US to 1930's Nazi Germany. Personally, I dont see the resemblance but it is typical for simple, narrow minded people, with no imaginations to compare whatever country or person that they dont like to Hitler and the Nazi's.
We get attacked by a terrorist group, a group that had admitted to attacks once before in New York and other European countries and we retaliate.
Most other countries, out of fear, turned a blind eye, some of them offered intelligence but only under the conditions that we didnt tell anyone what we were told.
I'm still looking for the comparisons between the US and Nazi Germany

I believe I posted a thread a few days ago... Something along the lines of "An American says Death to America". I don't get patriotism. It does no good. I was born here, and I am trapped here, but does that mean I have to support who owns me? Screw that, man. I wanna use a lot harsher language than that, but all of you brainwashed flag wavers have no concept of self, and no concept of empathy for others. You can't see all the suffering in the world and feel terrible that this is happening because of "us". You see the suffering and go "glad that's not me", instead of the natural reaction that decent clear headed people (and there aint many left) would have, which is "Oh my God, what have we done?" That's my reaction. Oh my God, what have we done to the world? We've destroyed it. We've destroyed all the peace movements, we've destroyed all the true spiritual movements, we've destroyed the homelands of all the most beautiful people in the world. For what???? For oil to drive our Hummers??? For Chips Ahoy and all the conveniences we have that nobody else can have. Not even 90 percent of our own population can have them. So don't anyone dare talk to me about "go live in another country" or "why don't you stop using all your wonderful american conveniences, then?" COULD YOU? This is a convenient prison!!!! Most of us would starve to death if there wasn't a major chain store right around the corner, because nobody teaches us how to be independet anymore! They teach us how to depend on the system and how to love it and how screwed we'd be without it. Well god dammit I'll tell you now, I'd rather have peace and justice and equality for all the people around the world than to have all our wonderful conveniences and securities and our wonderful murderous country whos people, for the most part, seem to have no empathy towards anyone anymore. I don't have to call for America's death. We're doing it to ourselves. Like I've said to people before, I think we need someone to invade us and kick our asses in order to wake the F*** UP!!! Wake the hell up, you corporate slaves! I'm in hell... but at least I realize it. At least I'm not killing my neighbors with my ignorance. I would love for all these ignorant people to wake up. You must realize that when I call Americans ignorant as pigs to a slaughter, I don't mean that in a hateful way. I mean it in the most truthful loving way possible. I want peace, love, and happiness for everyone. America simply will not do that. It will do just the opposite. It will bring the destruction of humanity. America needs to go. No American is truly an American. No Irania is truly an Iranian. No Eurpoean is truly a European. In the end, truly, we are all humans. So let's stop acting like this is some game and stop taking petty sides and waving unimportant banners. It's rediculous.
The sooner everyone realizes that, the sooner we will save ourselves from ourselves.

and If I seem a little angry towards my fellow neighbors, I'm sorry... but seriously, how many times can you run headfirst into a brick wall before you realize that it hurts you? I'm angry at the proliferation of ignorance, how it is loved and cherished and celebrated and laughed at. Just look at Comedy Central any day of the week, and you'll get why I'm so angry. Blatant ignorance, intolerance, and revellry in being completely stupid.
This is American pride? We should be proud of being intolerant, apathetic, hateful, dumbed down sheep? If someone will pay for me to move as far away from civilization as possible, you'll get your wish. I'll just "GIIIIT out!".

I think it's like gun owners, not everyone can own one and even the ones who do can take advantage of it but it's the only way we know if there are gonna be guns.

The other day I was watching a documentary on Somalia and black hawk down. Well they mentions bin laden stating we are a paper tiger and we will fold under the pressure of casualties. Than when we fight we are bad for killing innocents. This is all from Bin Laden. In the Quran it is a sin to kill any person by fire. 9-11 many people died by burning to death. My point is some people will use anything to satisfy those emotions. Iran's president has said some crazy things yet he is not in charge of the military in Iran. Now would they abuse it if they had a chance? I don't know but would you risk it?

I understand your point and I feel bad how people are attacking you. It is almost like a living analogy of USA against Iran. Someone has a different viewpoint and they must shut up or conform no matter what.

In my experience with people that have a want for fighting or killing you there are ways of treating them like an equal and they become your equal. Does this work every time, no. But it is possible every time if we try hard enough.
Ever become a friend of someone who seemed to hate you in the beginning? I sure have. All we had to do is discuss our differences and learn some things we had in common.

On the other hand I swear there is something in us that wants fighting and war. Ever study yourself when you watch a war movie? It invokes emotions, some we may have never knew we had. Is this right and just? I don't know but it sure seems natural. I joked in a past thread about getting more recruits for the Army by playing the movie 300 at high schools and after pass out enrollment papers. I suppose it is the high of letting go.

It's all fun and games until its your country targeted. What would you say if it was your country? As for the translation, what is the excuse for other the comments he made about Israel? If you can't remember then I will post them for you.

The only resemblence is when a 21 year old gets tasered by polic officers and everyone just laughs at the kid. Or oj gets off for mudering an innocent women. Even this time he's being let off. Were not in nazi germany, were in something worse when you can't say what you feel and the people are blind.

And by the way, despite fact that people keep repeating that "Iran threatened to wipe Israel off the map", its not true. Read a proper translation of what was said, in proper context, instead of reciting soundbytes - what Iran was saying was that they'd like to see regime change in Israel.

That's true, from what I've read he was just speaking of regime change. AND, I'm an American, whoa...imagine that. Some of us actually do read and understand things, between Big Macs and watching MTV, of course.

However, I must disagree with many of our "peace loving" brothers across the pond in regards to letting anybody who wants nuclear weapons get them. That is THE most ridiculous and dangerous thing we as a PLANET can do. [sarcasm]Let's allow EVERY country have nuclear weapons, simply because a few other countries have them. After all, who are we to say who can and cannot have them? I think every nation should have a few, surely we can't look too far into that whole "law of averages" thing. The more war torn nations and governments that have them the better, after all, NOBODY would actually use them. Let's get some to Africa as quick as we can, none of the parties in control in that country would EVER dream about using a WMD to murder massive numbers of people in the blink of an eye, too much respect for human life and understanding of consequences there for that, it would bring peace and stability to the region. Yup, that's the recipe for a peaceful planet, nuclear weapons for ALL.[/sarcasm]

We should ALL, as a PLANET, be heading in the direction of LESS nuclear weapons, and eventually NONE. Not too long ago, the newest kids on the nuclear block, India and Pakistan, were extremely close to a nuclear exchange. What a great idea to add them to the equation in even more age old conflicts, to allow more nuclear powder kegs to be created.

Are you seriously stating that you should be allowed to do as you please in the world because you were the first to invent some things?

No, he was just pointing out something that most of you seem to miss. That while you are ranting about the US government's actions, you seem (to us) to be forgetting all the good that we've (US citizens you say you still like) also brought to the world. A little more balance please.

You cant be serious. We are talking about what you guys are doing TODAY, which is invading country after country. Whats next, my country? My friends?

Get real - unless of course you and your friends plan on attacking us first.

You cant just ignore the what the rest of the world thinks, or you will create a lot of resentment, anger and hostility, no matter what stuff you have invented in the past.

Why not? Especially - as another poster pointed out - since you are all sounding like a record with a skip in it. Convince me that you still listen attentively to people in your life that just blather incessantly about the same thing over and over again.

Do you realize how many parents will lose their childs, how many childs will lose their parents, or how much psychological damage you will cause to millions of people? Have you grown up in a war to know that? You would think your vietnam veterans would let you know.

And do you realize with all the billions of $ in foreign aid we've contributed over so many years (and your little pissant country, what have they contributed?) how many millions of people we've helped and saved?

Im very anti-war as you can see, because I realize what it causes. I dont know if you have any kids in your life, but imagine them seeing bombs and war around them with people dying. It damages a person for the rest of their lives and gives them severe mental scars. Who do you think they will hate when growing up?

And now to the part you may never understand. We have wars in other places in a mostly successful effort to keep them from happening here. To try to keep our people from experiencing what you just said. Why, because we've watched the rest of the world fight and destroy each other. We've lost hundreds of thousands of our own trying to help you settle the wars you started. We've spent billions of $ rebuilding your countries after wars you started. Pardon us if we don't want that to happen here. And quite frankly, the best way to keep your wars from spilling over to here is to fight them there.

So, lose your holier than thou attitude about war. After all, you've been at it for much longer than we have.
