'Israeli warplanes raid' Lebanon
news.bbc.co.uk
Israeli warplanes have flown at low altitude over southern Lebanon in defiance of a United Nations resolution, reports from Beirut say.
The fighter jets allegedly caused sonic booms as they flew over the cities of Sidon and Tyre, as well as the towns of Bint Jbeil and Marjayoun.
Israel has so far made no comment on the Lebanese claims.
Israel has been criticised by the UN for making a number of overflights in Lebanon in recent weeks. (visit the link for the full news

Once again, the rules of the UN do not seem to apply to the IDF. Lebanese officials say the jets flew through their airspace towards the cities of
Sidon, Tyre and the Bint Jbiel Region.
Me thinks they were heading towards Syria possibly. Who knows, the story is still breaking.

Will someone please enforce laws on Israël? Do a massive international blockade of Israël and place warships near Israël. No goods enter until you
respect international law and respect the palestinians. You always starve palestinians, we'll starve you for once.
Maybe if Israël would eat of their own medicine, they would stop doing their BS... I guess they didn't learn from the Holocaust. Which is sad and
WTF at the same time for a country that always talk about it...

New poll shows Israeli support for Syrian escalation
Just found this on Al Jazeera. Looks like at least a majority of Israelis support an airstrike on Syrian targets. Interesting times we're living
in.

why should they respect internatinal law?
its not like the US does.
monkey see...monkey do.
they are doing fly-bys over TERRORISTS, and terrorists do not get the protections of international law.

They should respect International Law because one day someone may attack them and they will call out to the International community for support or
backing. And if they continue to do the "monkey-see, monkey-do" they will end up like the US. Seen as the big bully on the playground that no one
wants to associate themselves with.
A little goes a long way. Unfortunately, for Israel, they are following in the footsteps of the wrong people imo. But it's their country and their
leaders can do whatever they want, I'm not going to stop them.

Found another
source
reporting about the IDF's "fly-by".
The planes also flew over the Bint Jbeil region, a stronghold of the militant Hezbollah group, they said.
Israeli warplanes have been violating Lebanese airspace on a near- daily basis in the past two weeks, but on Tuesday the aircraft were seen flying
lower than usual.
Israel has drawn intense international criticism by continuing overflights after UN Resolution 1701 was adopted and a ceasefire was implemented on
August 14, 2006, ending 33-days of Israeli war against Hezbollah.

Apparently this has been going on since the Syrian raid. This is starting to sound like they are flying daily sorties into Syrian airspace IMO.
Something is in, or going into, that country and they are going to keep tabs on it.

For those who haven't kept up with the latest out of Syria, please read these two links:

I think this might open some eyes as to what else is going on over there.

Good stuff guys. My gut is telling me that they know Syria has something they shouldn't (obvious from the bombing last week) and they want President
Asad to know that they are keeping tabs on him.
It's an interesting time we are living in right now. Scary and amazing all wrapped up into one. The history books will be a sight to see in about
30 years or so.

Israel are desperately trying to regain that "aura of invincibility" that was shattered after last year in Lebanon.
Attack Syria, blatantly fly over Lebanese airspace.
Israel are like the bully in the playground. For years they have bullied and hit people with little to no retaliation.
Then they picked on one kid (Hezbollah) and that kid gave the bully a bloody nose.
Now the Israelis are trying to pick on others in the playground, but Israel thinks the rest of the playground do not see them as the invincible being
they once were made to look like.
Rather like the US wanting to hit Iran for getting a bloody nose in Iraq: Wanting to re-establish that aura of invincibility.
This is a BBC Newsnight report on the speculation, rumours and possible intentions of the Israeli air raid into Syria.
Video
Click on where it says 'Missed the latest programme? Watch now' and skip the video forwards to Twenty minutes and twenty seconds in.
It mentions how there is a news blackout imposed by the Israeli government on the subject in Israel. The Israeli media can not report on it at all.
Could it be a strengthening of Israel's hand in peace talks with Syria, and they don't want to trumpet about it so as not to harm peace talks?
Are the Syrians not making a fuss about it too much because there maybe peace talks to let them have the Golan Heights back?
Or something else?
Warning: The video contains graphic images of John Bolton later in the video, so viewer discretion is advised.

Monkey see, Monkey do? End up like the US? Damn...I bet there is about 100 countries out there that wish they were just like the US. High standard
of living. Free of waking up to bombs going off in our back yards....Free to walk the streets of our beautiful cities every morning. I
know....sounds ridiculous, BUT I LOVE THIS COUNTRY. And I would efend it with the last drop of my blood against anyone who dare attack it.
Lets roll!!!!!!!

Yeah who does Israel think they are? They only get attacked almost everyday by thugs sponsor by countries like Syria. Maybe they don't want to wait
for a nuke blast for them to do something. It is real easy for you guys to point the finger when you can walk down the street without and rpg flying
by your head.

At least Israeli's have streets to walk down, and homes to live in. The majority of Palestinians have neither. And I would rather live with the
nuisance of home made rockets on the countries borders than 500lb bombs destroying everything.
And it's not just that Israel don't care about international war, they just know that nobody is ever going to bring them up about it. The only power
that could possibly police them is America, and I can see Bush admitting to being a Reptilian before that'll happen. That whole area of the world is
lawless at the moment. It's dog eat dog. Or in this situation, Man shoot dog.

Every country around Israel wants Israel's destruction and its all comes down to religion. If Israel wasn't attacked on a daily basis and left
alone without fear of being wiped off the face of the planet, then it wouldn't go on bombing raids.

Why can't I? Seems like a pretty legitimate source of information regarding the Middle East. Maybe you don't agree with them, that's fine, but
I'll continue to view them as a reliable news source just as much as I look at the New York Times, Seattle Times, or even the Butte Montana Herald.
It's all a matter of perspective.

Syria is a bigger country than Israel, has three times the population, and Hezbollah allies next door. Israel has sophisticated military equipment,
and the strategic Golan Heights. If Syria could get the first strike at Israel, it could be devestating for Israel. So, Israel is forced to go for
strategic first strike.
Life sucks for the Palestinians, but Syria doesn't about them any more than Israel does. I don't think they have much to do with the conflict with
Syria.
