After meteor, mystery disease appears in Peru.

I was not able to find an english-text source for this info, but this brazillian source is pretty reliable, so I´m translanting to english for those who don´t speak/read portuguese.

Locals from the city of Puno (Peru), located about 1.300km from Lima, are suffering from a mystery disease after a meteor crash in the region, making a 30m diameter crater.

According to Puno´s Health Department, Jorge Lopez, since the incident, wich happened just before midnight last saturday, people are expressing complaints about strong headaches and vomiting caused by a "weird smell".

The seven police officers that went to check the crater are also sick and had to been hospitalized to get oxigen mask and treatment, according to Lopez. A team of specialist was sent to the crater site, wich is 6m deep.

"Bubbles of boiling water started coming out of the hole, rock and ash particles were found nearby. The local residents are very worried", said an authority.

Is there any info about sick people after a meteor crash in the past?
Is it comom? I can´t say I know for sure...
