Revelations was written at a time when Christians were being persecuted. It was written in code.
That is completely untrue. There is a large debate on who wrote Revelation, but the writer (John) makes it quite clear who he was from the very
beginning.
Revelation 1:9
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called
Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
John the Beloved, Apostle of Christ, was banished to the Isle of Patmos by Roman Emperor Domitian, which is where John received the words of Christ
and the visions written in Revelation.
It was not written in code, and was written by the aposlte of Christ, John the Beloved.
