Google funds $30 million Moon prize

In a bid to take the private space industry in new paths google is sponsoring a new prize for the xprize foundation. www.googlelunarxprize.org... .This may spur more interest in space among today young generation.

Excellent news, the X prize is a great thing and might well spur some much needed public interest in space travel, relying on NASA has proved to be a bit of a bore (i have been interested in space for a very long time, but in my eye's NASA seem to pick a lot of rather uninteresting missions, amist a lot of delays and cuts backs)

A privately funded trip to the moon could only be a good thing, at least then it doesn't come out of the taxpayers pocket!
