Sex will be a sport and no longer used for reproduction.
You will use an on-line catalog to choose your offspring traits. You only be allowed one, a girl or a boy.

Women will no longer carry children during pregnancy. It will be too dangerous. They will be conceived and grown in incubators until birth.

Hunting is no longer legal. There are too few animals left to hunt.

The environment is too polluted or unsuitable for humans. People will only live in designated "safe" areas.

Everybody will be implanted with a monitoring device at birth for your own "safety". It will monitor everything about you including your location.

Life will be orderly and sterile. Anybody who gets out of line will disappear. Genetically reproduced organs will be available when your fails.

Your food will be genetically modified, processed and artificial. Fresh food is not available anymore.

Contact sports will be outlawed. It is too dangerous.

Officials are appointed, not elected. The world will have one central government with governing regions. Elections will be held for figure head officials with no power over anything.

Commercial fishing is banned because there are no more fish of value left in the ocean.

Virtual reality visors will replace the internet. This promotes self absorption and disconnecting from reality.

All news and information will be censored.

You are assigned jobs and living areas.

Traveling between regions is strictly regulated and usually unnecessary due to virtual reality visors.

Wow, That doesn't sound fun at all! Thank God I'll be long gone before 2100 comes.

Can you please tell us what life will be like in the year 3000 considering you obviously can predict the future? Oh, and also is WW3 gonna happen this weekend, because it seems we have a rash of psychics that just joined this site.

Dont forget that Quantum processing will become widely available, and the first self-aware computers will come into existence.

Great thoughts eagledriver. I agree for the most part that they are very probable.

Just to add one more: Man and Woman can no longer be distinguised visually and philosophically. It will be illegal to call someone male or female, it's downright insulting and totally un-PC.

And to go a step further (kinda gross, stop reading if you are easily offended) both sexes will have two genitalias, human will become hermaphrodite.

There are no longer "family" units for progressive hipsters. Instead, chilren are born into zoo-like institutions and are visited by the parents during vacation time as a leisure activity to amuse themselves.

Just one more:
Facial expression no longer exists because emotions is passe and socially unacceptable. EXCEPT for fake patronizing agreeing laughters. (kinda like my office now)

Here are my technological predictions for 2100:

1. Unlimited energy will be produced in every "car".
2. Music will be no more.
3. Controlling of computers and the Internet using your brain; i.e. chatting, video gaming.
4. The Internet will be able to produce and transmit physical matter.
5. We will still have agriculture, but will be used and grown in cities.
6. Photonic laser weapons will replace bullets.
7. Animals of every species will be kept in one gigantic protected area.
8. Cure for cancer and AIDS.
9. No Alien contact but we will receive a lot of "activity" from the universe.
10. Colonies on the moon and Mars will grow into cities.
11. Time traveling is still science fiction.
12. The world will be governed by one government but divided into regions.
13. The speed of light will be broken, but not by humans.

In 3000 - by request

We will be space faring being because most of the Earth is uninhabitable. Only small teams are left on Earth to try to recover from the damage done by man - but it will take 100s of years.

In the meantime, there are cities on the moon, Mars and Jupiters moons.

Only a small fraction of the Earth's original population is left.

All living humans are genetically manufactured and maintained. The average life is 200 years. All physical labor is done by robots. There is no more concept of pregnancy.

New power sources and space travel technics make the Earth only hours away from Mars. The Mars environment is under the process of teraforming but is still 100's of years away. Light is no longer required to see. All humans have visors surgically attached that replace the eyes so they can see in the dark and information is supply instantly with a thought.

No physical contact is permitted between humans.

There are no sports or competitive activities. All energy is allocated to assigned tasks.

The lines between men and women are blurred.

Religion does not exist or any history of it ever existing.

There is no life from Earth in space except for humans. Most life on Earth is extinct.

No - WWIII is months away. The US deployment is underway, but not yet completed. Expect lasers and new stealth technology to play large roles in the war. It will not escalate into WWIII but it will change life for everybody.

"4. The Internet will be able to produce and transmit physical matter."

This one is already said to be in the works. Download a pizza when hungry
But will it taste as good? Maybe some parts won't fully download.

-------

'Mental' Internet, no more computers it's all docked into your brain as with cell phones, you can answer and search by thought.

You are now a fully consumer, more than before, you will not choose what to buy, they do it for you.

Meteverses to replace reality situations that are more complex.

Nanotech virus epidemics replace bacteria and virus outbreaks.

Artificial Intelligence of everyday appliances and electronics.

Mass layers of underground subcultures.

Cops and Military as robots.

That would be kind of dangerous wouldn't it? Are you talking about robots that work by themselves or robots that are controlled by humans like UAVs?

I'd like to think that not alot will have changed by 2100, but in a thousand or two thousand years?

We will all have an average height of 7 feet tall.
Animals no longer used as pets but used only for weapon testing and food.
Humans and animals will be cloned so that reproduction is for fun only.
People will be brainwashed by the world government which is run in switzerland after russia and america blow each other up.
A.I will play a massive role in day to day duties.
We will not be defined by our sexes, just a human.
We will all have the same appearances.
In fact alot of stuff that happens in the army now will become mainstream.

So there you have it, thats our future!

Here's my prediction for 2100

-Humans will be much the same as now but have a higher life expectancy with the coming generations living easily to 100 yrs. due to advancing medical technology.

-Space travel will be common with holidays to moon hotels and an orbiting hotel available for the price of todays pricey holidays

-Music will have evolved and new types of musical instrument will have been introduced using new technologies allowing amazing immersing effects.

-The combustion engine will be a thing of the past much like the steam engine is to us today and will have been replaced by much cleaner energy.

-Global warming will be something studied in History lessons and the planet will be well on the road to recovery

- There will have been more major wars but after Bush and the following president of the US have ended their terms, there is a President with some sense and works at improving life for its own citizens by looking at crime, pollution and education. Many other countrys also do this.

-The middle east will be under close scrutiny from the West and the divide is still there but agreements have been made and peace is at least temporary.

- Africa is still unfortunately in desperate need of aid.

- Television will be almost real life and home entertainent will be extremely edvanced

- computer technology had taken over much of industry meaning a major shift in skilled trade employment to jobs in IT.

- Air travel will be more popular than ever but will be virtually emission free.

- Many of the endangered species of animal will be well on the way to recovery with more emphasis being put on wildlife preservation as we realise that for our own survival we need to protect our environment.

The future won't be such a scary place. Look at all of the carbon that was being released by steam engines and open fires 100 yrs ago, look at all the major wars over the past decades, the murder and violent crimes of the past. Believe it or not, the planet IS becoming a better place as awareness of major issues are finally being acknowledged.

Most of the follow on predistions seem to be a little short sighted. If you look back 100 years and the speed of our current technological trends, we are in for big changes. Yes, I forgot nanotecholgy and robotics. In the military and service areas, robots will largely replace humans.

The good things are that fusion and hydrogen engines will be perfected meaning fossil fuels will be outlawed. I wish that could happen now. We are dependant on a highly toxic arab liquid. It couldn't get much worse expect for it's pumped into the air as fast as they can pump it out of the ground. Corporate greed gone amuck.

The bad things that are will happen is a world government that is a socialist dictatorship, electronic personal implants, women becoming more frigid in the PC workplace. Sex and religion are for home use only. Electronic VR visor replaces TV, phone, internet, computer, stereo, ect. Children and living space will be limited. Water will be rationed. Food will be synthetic.

Air travel will be limited and will actually be space flights through low orbit.
News will be censored to avoid panic over situations on other continents.
Choices you have now will be unheard of. Sounds a lot like the old USSR!

But wait! There's one more whopper. This will all be agreed to because space aliens are found to exist are not as friendly as expected. People are out of their minds in fear and look for big brother, government, to protect them. They are not hostile either and cannot communicate, but definitely are found to exist... on the planets surface no less!

Will prudes like Hillary Clinton populate the earth? Or will Bill his husband be the norm?

Prudes? Or sex-maniacs?

No way! People live long enough now and are only expensive and bothersome after retirement. There are certain forces that control many things that would stun you, including surpressing life extending technology that has already been developed but not made public.

Sexuality is largely fueled by hormones. After your done growing, there will be certain drugs used to limit sexual stimulation. Only Russia is trying to add to the population. Everyone else in the world is trying to stifle population growth. After all, what do you get for spending all that money, time and frustration on the opposite sex?! Sexual relationships that fade quickly and are highly stressful. Add AIDS, Herpes, Pregnancy, other STDs and it is enough to drive you away for good and just use the social sevices commitee provided sex workers (govt subsidized prostitutes).

Interesting...

So, humans will be produced through the labs?

Sounds good to me. Hunting should be illegal right now IMO.

I'm not too sure about this one. Earth's way big, but if that happens in the case, city will most likely have a different design.

Like RFID or Veri chip? Are you suggesting there will be a law to inject every person with a chip, and those who refuse, will be punished by death?

Not too sure. I think I'll take a doubt on that.

What about the seeds, will they not be available anymore, or become illegal to buy them?

It may be, what about shoulder pads, helmets, everything?

I believe there'll be new sports, though.

I think there's enough fishes.

So, you will be able to use virual reality visors with your brain, without having to have the keyboard to type on in order to communicate with others?

I see.

But, you will still be able to travel, right?

Thanks for your contribution, such an interesting post, I must say.

I'd love to see humans able to live longer.

But not in the next 50 years, less than 50 years would be great.

There's many questions behind the human life span, though.

Such as.....if a human was able to live longer, would the Earth's population increase faster than right now or slower?

I don't know if humans will be around in another 93 years. The way things are going now it does not look good. If we were to still be around I think man will have harnessed antigravity. Nano technology will have had a boom. Humans life expectancy would have increased by 20 years to an average of 90-95years old. Science will be able to open small worm holes on Earth. The assembly and disassembly of atoms to form DNA will have occur and the creation of new life forms on Earth will have started late 2090's.

OP you pose some quite interesting scenarios and ideas.
Many of these situations were brought up in a book written by Lois Lowry titled The Giver.
Also, some of the scenarios you suggested are already happening today; for instance, the media is indeed strictly regulated already and people are alreay forbidden to travel to certain places, although I must admit there are a great many of places that are allowed. The world's oceans are beginning and have already underwent a vast amount of depletion of its fish and other forms of life incliding but not limited to coral and mammals.

So it very well may be possible that you have overestimated; things may indeed turn out as you stated far before the year 2100.

Many questions have been brought up about the one government concept. "Appointed by who" was one question. Some of you already know or suspect that there already is an unnamed group that is pushing the one world concept. These are very wealthy elites that are not in the public eye and would be impossible to find, but their influence is everywhere in board rooms and government. Their influence is enough to 'persuade' policy trends in all the major countries. They clearly have George Bush in their pocket. Letting the world invade the US from the southern border and refusing to do anything about it is a clear sign. The fence bill is a farce. One congressman told me that the bill that was approved and funded is sitting in homeland security where Bush conies are squashing it into an ineffective nothing.

When the one world government is in power, many of the other predictions will follow. Note that the major event that allows one government to take power will also be the catalyst for many of the other issues like chip implants, food rations and livable areas issue.

As for ocean fishing, Japan has already seen the writing on the wall and are aggressively fish other countries waters. They are dependant on fishing so this is expected. Too much over fishing is continuing with hi-tech tools that effectively wipes clean large areas ocean. The ocean can't sustain this constant invasive intrusion.

Fresh vegetables will be available if you are rich. Very much like the movie Soylent Green. Global warming effectively turning large farming areas into deserts or swamps has something to do with that.

As for adding 50 years onto life expectancy. This is not in the best interest of society. You already can spend 20 years or more in retirement. Do you want to extend that to 70 years? Who will pay for that? Working for 70 or 80 years is fine, but your productive years have passed and your effectiveness after 60 is usually quite limited.

The unnamed group referred to earlier already has plans drawn up to “install” many of these “predictions”. It is quite chilling to think about.

Many of these thing will happed long before 2100, as stated, but they all and more will have happened by 2100.

Nice. Is the name Gorman anything? Did anyone by that name do anything special or cool? Has anyone by the name Gorman done anything world wide known.

And a while ago, I had a dream of an alien world I now call Gormania. PLEASE, is there anything you can tell me about it to see if you can remote see it or anything?

oh yea,

"Add AIDS, Herpes, Pregnancy, other STDs"

Pregnancy is an STD?

Not that I'm a doubter, I need more proof.
