Before there was Carrot Top, There was the Banana Man

A. Robins, The Banana Man did this skit in 1939 and he reminds me of a kind of mix of Carrot Top and Gallagher--Carrot Top for his various props and Gallagher for his very clever costume changes.

The first clip is of the original Banana Man, A. Robins. The color clip is Sam Levine who took up the act after Robins' death in the early fifties.
