Great idea! Thanks for the fun.

Can we have a song-lyrics contest next?

And there lurking in the dark of night
an Enigma waits just out of sight
guided by hands we cannot see
that manipulate our destinies

They hide like shadows cast in doubt
from behind their lies no truth comes out
Always moving towards their ends
the Overlords for the race of men

*this is not a submission. i didn't write it. it's just a bit of humor, albeit slightly warped humor. )

ABCD puppies?
MR no puppies.
OSAR2 puppies.

Hey Bee, see the puppies?
Them are no puppies.
Oh yes they are to, puppies.
See them pee-in?

The last of first
has seemed to say
what is wrong with today

Evry' ones hearts in blaze
the sun in a daze
and the empty city street
will never forget you,
and never forget me.

My entry:

Red Shift

Sun shrieks its bow across the sky and I am rage on my machine

Between the molecules I slip, unearthly force of one

Broad bands of light transect my course, I race the light, I am the dark

I live and die each time. Tears mix with rain, reborn.

My body, mind we rise above, I see myself, lithe liquid form

Merge pain and joy, transcendent state, hot metal, lungs, hot spirit.

Now cool desire, blue molten fire, then suddenly, redshift; there is no bike, is no chain

There is no fire, there is no rain, and I slipstream across the Universe, again.

now is the hour of my
in my closet and i sit,
i reminise

what your face felt like
was and is soft silk ON my hand
of your lips
my memories are tastlessly bland

everyone else has some good stuff....

“Dancing in the ruins”

I love & haunt the wastelands,
the rundown, out of the way lands;
down by the docks & abandoned piers,
out on a lonesome, windswept jetty;
warehouse row or the rail yards
and ruins of every type.
I know these places for what they are,
forgotten by some
but never empty, always full
of dreams & memories past,
of what was wrought by man.
There you will find me
walking & thinking, sometimes drinking
communing with the wind that blows through my soul
like a stiff November breeze.
So it is with my heart; I love the forsaken,
the lost & alone
trembling with love unfulfilled,
and aching for a gentle touch.
They make the best lover’s,
struggling to release their inner flame.
Can you see them? I can hear them
singing their own songs with rough & ready voices,
fading in the distance
until only the melody remains.

I hope everyone enjoys it.

Little ditty 1

An empty vessel I am
all at sea
Help me deny my ignorance
and set me free.

Little ditty 2

Ignorance is bliss
or so they say.
Shall we remain blissful
till our dying day?
The bitter pill of truth
may be hard to swallow.
But better that
than remain in this wallow.

so much competition.....going to have to bust out the big guns and go back years....

p.s. 2004.....for me 3 years is a long time....maybe not for some of you....

Because I broke yours
when I fell apart
I rip out mine own
and give you my heart

Keep it with you always
no matter what I do
cause I always in someway
want to be with you

Roses are red, Violets are blue
What color rose is right for you

Peace, Love, Happiness and Health
Will lead down the path to Wealth

Look deep inside your very being
the light bulb of life will start your seeing

Put out your hands to help one another
you will discover one day you helped your brother

This is also a form of poetry.
I made it all by myself.

please don't count this as a poem..
inspiration perhaps - for the next contest

"Dickie Jones"

the circus of the world caught dicky's gaze
'Never a whore!' a raven's cry
underling wondering slapping his face
the yields of the fields bringing tears to his eye

'Dicky Jones, swirl yourself out!'
'Never a whore!...' in the distance a shout
dicky confused not willing to see
'Well mister Jones, now it's yours, you and me...'

The Wonder Within...

I live in light, but I've seen the dark,
I've been where hell hounds snarl and bark,
The countless years it took to learn,
The countless times I had to burn,

But silence was the key to me,
My hidden wisdom set me free,
And from that dark, this light has grown,
A spark to a star, never alone.

Have you seen the worker in the light?

brighter than the sun, shadow like an

eclipse, he stays just out of range most

of his days, and tends to his beautiful

gardens where he watches us grow.

We watch you from the skies above
Waiting and hoping you learn to Love

We observe here, there and everywhere
Waiting for all to learn and share

We are not permitted to fix your wrongs
We do try our best to help you along

Put down the weapons and walk away
this will allow all to live another day

Some think we're on Earth to learn a lesson
For me this is truly a blessin'

I can hear the laughter of children at play
It's something I could listen to all day

Joy and Happiness is free for us all
As long as we don't break any Law

I wonder what my lesson was for this very day
Maybe it was to get up and go out to play

Bush and Blair

We laid waste to their lifes, we laid waste to their soil,
In the name of the prize, oh treasured oil.

We warned of nasty weapons, of NBC,
lying was easy as ABC.

We sent your father, brother, mother, son and daughter,
to be harmed and to be killed in our slaughter.

For I am the Texan, and my partner the Brit,
We are Bush and Blair, and we never gave a sh!t.

Iraqi Father's Tale

You bombed my land, and killed my family,
So I took up a weapon and aimed readily.

They call me insurgent, they call me terrorist,
they do not understand, why I fight like this.

I was a father and husband, a loving family man,
until you took that away, in that brutal way you can.

You destroyed my home, and occupied my land,
but I shall wreak revenge with my deadly killing hands.

Sometimes I can't help myself, so I wrote this. I'm not bashing, really, so don't flame me.

There once was a fellow from Texas,
Who stole all the muscle he flexes,
While bringing Iraq to order,
He totally ignored our border,
So illegals now infect us.
