With a blind eye to the living,
A mass slaughter,
To cleanse the earth,
Of this futile race,
So scream for God,
And cry for mercy,
Where is He now?
Under the sword all repent...

A cold wind cuts,
Instantaneously to the heart,
As fresh snow flakes bury,
What once was my life,
Stones line my heart,
The arteries harden and clinch,
A solemn reminder,
That this was all for you...

Dreams are the glimmer of hope,
We find spewing from lies,
Just one enlightened soul,
Erases the darkness surrounding us all…

I'm no good at this but...what the goes:

Death appeared with dark promises
On a bright autumn's day
In the blink of an eye
Life and liberty would be ripped away

Devastation and ruin
Smoke and fire
We the People succumb
To evil desire

Two Shadows

Trapped in an endless cubicle of doubt;
The world degrading into endless bout.
A pyramid that claims its dominance
Continues to desolate resonance
At any cost - no solid foundry here;
"Can't stop lest peace be found remotely near."
So differentiation is a sin?
Then sin is me and freedom is my kin.

Wrote off the top of my head. I hope it stacks decently with some of the more professional writers entering the contest.

Ah yes. I wake when I want. I nap as I please. I only eat the finest cuts of veal and lap luxuriusly on my perrie' always near. I take a saunter in my garden. Sun myself on a mat of fine cotton. I may take a mind to nip on the heels of the help that may wander into my abode. Wonder where the old hag is.
Nice to be Leona Helmsleys dog

Why am I Here?

Why did I come to ATS,
at first I was only a humble guest,
then I posted what I thought was my very best,
and got replies that responded in jest,
I've learned that with time to make my words clear,
or suffer the response and wrath of peers.

As darkness comes to start the night
we must begin to see the light.
Not with our eyes, but with our heads.
We must handle all our dreads.
For if we don't wake the very next day,
will anyone know we lived anyway?

My fam'ly tells me there's no limits, but its tough ta believe it,
Because the game stays the same, its either love it or leave it,
Sometimes I feel like there's somethin' really wrong with me,
Because I want ta die and bring people along with me,
But ev'rytime my insides start turnin hateful and tryfe,
Destiny blesses me and gets me feelin thankful for life,
Cuz I'm a fighter, I'm'a battle till no battle is left,
And stand tall thru the Valley of the Shadow of Death.

A Needed Emotion

We play at sex for love,
We play at love for sex,
Love is a gift that anyone can give,
Love is a gift that many refuse,
But in the end it is the love that we need.

The Truther and the Skeptic, How they need each other so,
Cause a stir, when that occurs the points received are sure to grow.
Crazy stressed, I open A-T-S and read my favorite threads,
Ten years of: tin foil hats and chats, the greatest on the web.
A place to speak my mind without a soul inclined on muting me,
Use respect in 9-11 threads cuz those topics are under close scrutiny,
You can discuss the paranormal, even debate the truth of Gods,
A-T-S is crazy fresh, so much respect to super mods.

In times of broken hearts desire,
you be my flame I'll be your fire...
Candles burn't the dawn is near,
I touch your face
and feel the tears...

The Warrior

That autumn day you saw the light, and decided to fight, to save the world you changed your life.
You became the savior of the weak, and the hope for the strong, you
fought 1000 men and many more.
Is it worthy my cause? You ask to the summer sky, you look at those children and smile.
Why you of all should fight? Your heart beats with a bitter sweet thump.
You wipe the sweat of your face and look at the enemie´s eyes,
with not a word he knows that you are willing to die.

Disappearing into you
Becoming one no more two.
The universe behind our eyes,
Tantric bliss beyond desire...

Here's a poem about Tony:

He sits like a hog with its hind quarter immovable in mud;
Bogged under his own weight--
Weight measured in chops and ribs by men, like me,
With tall plans for Sunday.

Sunday, to be spent with at least two sixpacks (the good stuff doesn't come in twelves) and our mate: vertical, square and steaming.
Six hours in there and yes, this excuse for "man's best friend"
would rival any bogged-down-in-mud grass-fed swine.

The solar panel's shining face
Is smiling back on me
Twisting off into the sun
It's okay to be lonely

Entry #2:

Chico comes to me with some sort of "puff-ball" in his mouth
And he tells me that I can stop what I'm doing and throw
The puff-ball.

I tell him I'm busy and I don't want to throw that dirty old piece of trash.
But he explains: "it's not trash--see? It squeaks."
So I reach for it, but when I do, he pulls it away from my hand.

When will I learn?

Entry #3:

Because I have not seen him for almost six minutes
He dances at my entrance (once rising to his hind legs!)
I shut the front door and tell him I just saw him.

But a lot has happened in six minutes: see the cats?
They're gathered at the refrigerator--
They're planning a coup!

You step outside
and cold emptiness sweeps you away
to a world in which you feel as: hopeless
and nothing more than human.

And you scrub mountains earth and sky
with flesh until bone white cold
shines on endlessly like snow
melting in Spring.

Title: Turmoil In The Middle East

Turmoil In The Middle East.
A Rumbling Grumbling Beast.

Religious Fanatics Clashing Swords.
Sparking Violence Amongst The Hordes.

Hate Cascades Across All Lands.
Landmines Stealing Limbs And Hands.

Little Ones Cry. Fighterplanes Fly.
The Old Argue. And The Young Die.

My 2nd Entry...

Title: The Watcher Haiku (Senryu)

Living in the world
Acting like an observer
Watching the world work.

Author's Comments:
"5.7.5 style is like Haiku, however it is Senryu because it does not speak of nature."

My 3rd and final entry.

Love is: you forever wrapped in a blanket fresh from the dryer

You feel it.
A soft gentle surrounding comfort.
Warm and clinging.
Covering you in her care.
Pulsing warmth running up your arm.
Through the trembling handhold.
So sweet, so soft, and so yours.
Warm blanket fresh out of the dryer.

Great thread by the way. I bet we have some talented artists of the vocabulary here on ATS. Good Luck To All!
