Does this happen to anybody else?

Topic started on 10-9-2007 @ 02:43 PM by PostalDude

I have no idea where to post this but ok so i used to talk quite frequently to my freinds via text message on my cell phone. Nowadays not as much. Now i still recieve messages throughout the day and everything, and about 1/3 of them that i recieve i sort of "feel" them coming. Like i feel an urge pick up my phone from wherever it is sitting and one second later a message comes. It happens quite frequently and i dont know what it is. I do NOT believe i can see the future or anything of that matter but im open to the idea.

Yeah, this sort of thing happens to me too, I sense the phone is going to ring a split second before it actually does. I react, then it rings.
The most unusual thing that I find though is that the phone may not ring all day, I could spend half the day next to the phone, and as soon as I get up to go to the bathroom, it rings, usually halfway through a pee, or when I go to make toast or want to head out the door or something. RING! or TONE!
Is the subconscious propelling me to get up, when my conscious just wants to satisfy another need?
Don't know, just an observation I make at times.

Weird!

Sort of...sometimes I'll hear a song in my head and then switch the radio channel a few minutes later and it'll be playing.

If I ever have the radio on and I get a phone call on my cell phone, I can always hear my radio/speakers make an odd feedback sound briefly before my phone actually rings. I believe this to be the radio picking up the signal of the incoming call just slightly before my phone can respond by ringing outloud. So if a radio can detect an incoming phone call before the phone actually rings...I would say that it is very possible the human brain, on some level, can detect these same signals before the phone rings. I believe it is because the ring of the phone is delayed or slower than the actual transmission of the signals/wave/ whatever??? I'm no expert but I like your thread. I also wanted to mention thinking of a song and then turning on the radio and that song is on...I believe all the different signals/waves really do have an effect on the human brain...Just my humble 2 cents.

You may be gifted

You may be blessed wth heightened intuition. I'm sure quite a few ATS members will relate similar experiences but, perhaps, in a parallel way.
You could also consider that happenstance is an ordaining factor.
Subliminally, this may be no more than the laws of coincidence at work.
Whatever the reason it's food for thought.

I notice stuff like this all the time but I believe that is is a mixture of coincidence and our programming to look for patterns.

We spend our lives subconsciously looking for patterns and similarities...it makes things easier to recount. As an example, today I was listening to the radio news and they mentioned that X-rays could allow researchers to look at the Dead Sea Scrolls without damaging the artefacts. Now, just as I was listening, I remembered that I had a thought earlier in the morning where the idea of looking through a book by X-ray came to mind..I kind of had an image of the process in my mind.

It was the only thought I have had today that coincided with another event...so I remembered it. Now I know I have thousands of thoughts a day..many of them lascivious but not one of those other thoughts can I remember.

I think it is as simple as that.

I watched that program about Mr Robinson and his alleged predictions. If someone could say that event X will happen at time Y, give good notice of the event and be 100% accurate then they may have a gift. But vague inaccurate statements (often in hindsight :lol are of no real use and could redirect resources from real threats.imho.

yes! I get that a lot. The most common experience for me is movies. I'll be thinking about a film I saw once, or I will dream about one, and it will appear on TV the next day. This happens a lot with me.

This always used to happen with me and my last girl friend, I don't get it so much with other people, just the ones who are close to me.

Ok but now THIS is really weird. I was having a good day today like no other. Then suddenly i feel really terrible and depressed. These thoughts of my gf leaving me come to my head and i like basically have an axiety attack over it. i feel like this for a while and then im pretty much over it.
A few hours later i get a text message (i didnt feel the text message coming) that reads "I dont think this is gonna work out."

Yes I have this! It's not like you even sense anything. The fone may not have had a text or rang all day and then I may randomly take it out my pocket to check.. nothing, then as soon as it goes back in my pocket i get a txt! I have often wondered why.

It only happens 'sometimes' not saying it happens everytime but it is weird because when it does happen, the person must be actually writing the text message at the exact moment that i wonder if i have a message! lol

Just something else on a side note.. this is gonna sound ridiculous and in no way am i claiming that i have control over the future lol but!... on several occasions I have had thoughts about old tv shows or old songs and then within a few days it appears on the radio or the TV in some way and even to the extent that they have made major comebacks. How the hell is this possible because some of them are the most random things.

I dont know where this fits in but everytime I am talking to this one girl, my wife calls my cell phone. She'll be 40 miles away and somehow feel the need to call. It always happens when I am with this one girl.

I also could think of a song and turn the radio station and it would be playing. It used to happen a lot but not much anymore.

More than anything, I very often can tell when a police car is hiding or coming my way around a corner. I get this really knotted up, tight feeling in my stomach and I can't see very well. It's like a pressure on my body or something. I quickly let off the gas and usually I'm right.

Kind of like how animals can sense predators in nature?

This happens to me all the time. It used to be right before I get a call, but now it's more frequent... even when I don't get a call or a text. I can tell who's calling before they call sometimes... freaks my Dad out when were sitting there watching tv or talking and I blurt out that so and so is calling you... then the phone rings and it's them. LOL.
