Thank you for sharing your tribute with us all. My sympathy goes out to you and all of us who have lost loved ones and friends over the years. It is
heart warming to know our heros are not forgotten and are mourned by so many. We should all take time daily to remember those that have given their
ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Over the past sixty years I have lost so many friends and family to the cause. I am proud to have know each of them, and am eternally grateful for
their service to the USA.
And shame on anyone that would take that away from us that mourn to add their political bashing on such a fine thread.
Thank you for that, friend. My brother is on the ground in Iraq, or will be shortly, and if, God forbid, the worst should happen, I'm glad there
will be someone just like that Marine Colonel to bring him home safely.
I suppose I knew that already, but heart and mind don't always communicate as well as they should.
I appreciate your prayers for my brother. It's hard on all of us who have loved ones in harm's way. I pray that all our troops come home soon.
Slackerwire,
I echo my brother Seagull's hope that if God forbid something happen to our brother that some one like that Marine brings him home to us with the
same amount of care and compassion.
Thanks for that, Jso. As we speak, he's on the ground as a convoy escort driver. I pray not only for his safety, but that he isn't forced to kill
anyone in defence of himself and his squadmates.
On behalf on my family thanks for those good thoughts about my baby brother. As Seagull said he is on the ground now and has been there for 3 weeks
with many more to go. He was promoted from gun truck driver to the commander of the truck. His truck is the first one in the convoy which I'm told
is because he's been there before and the hope is that he will recognize dangers better then those who haven't.
Semper, once again thanks for this tribute and thanks for sharing something that so obviously means so much. You do us all great honor by allowing us
to honor your friend.
