I always took what she said seriously even though as I child I did not understand it. (She is one who insisted that people should sleep in rooms that had no electric wiring in the walls, ceiling or floors. She maintained it interfered with the body's need to connect with the electrical frequencies of the Earth.

I offer all of that hoping some of it may be of help to you or others who may think they are alone. Also, I do find that if I am very vexed or otherwise extremely emotional, these effects go up quite dramatically.

No I dont think your Grandma a crazy woman I agree. Also I may add 'spring matress' to that list of no no's. I bet HAARP has fun with those. lol

Ok evil was a bit strong The tv and radio antennas I just presumed happens to everyone, does to me and my mates, how about the rest of you?

I must "dance" in the opposite direction too. I blow out lights in parking garages and streetlights as well. Happens when I'm most stressed which is most the time anyway.

I'll have to read up on the sliders bit. Thanks that sounds interesting.

I did a pretty good job of tagging all the slider threads, including this one......the slider threads on ATS are awesome indeed and jam packed with info! I think they are some very interesting reads!

There is a woman in the UK who is a slider who is NOT even allowed to have a job anymore because she messes up all the electrical equipment wherever she works. She destroys cash registers, coffee machines and electronic burglar alarms.
Sliders effect street lights yes, but they blow out light bulbs, have a bad effect on a cars battery, flashlights, digital cameras, and just about any electrical appliance only has a half the normal lifespan it should have when it is regularly being used by a slider person. Sliders folks wear out batteries in half the time or less than a regular persons battery would work. We seem to be sucking the energy right out of electric things......

The 'experts' don't know if this is because there are more minerals in a s.l.i.d.e.r.s. blood, hence making them more conductive of electricity, or what exactly causes this.
Allot of people just roll their eyes not believing this and say its all in ones imagination, but its a real deal I can assure you.
Slider people change light bulbs 10 times more often then non slider folks. SLider folks have to get the alternator repaired in a cars engine twice as often as non slider folks......we wear out keyboards and the computer mouse so often it would seems they just HAD to be faulty ones to begin with! SLider people for sure spend ALLOT more money on electronic things as they never last as long for us.....

My step brother who grew up with me watched my effects on the light switches as we grew up together. He is now a master electrician, and when I am visiting his house he freaks out and yells at me to not even touch his light switches, as he does not want to have to worry about fixing stuff. He will get out of the lounge chair and walk clear down a hall to turn on the bathroom light rather than have me do it

I have noticed that when I am angry, or super happy, the effect is tenfold. If I am telling my son off and turn on a light POW the light blows straight out with a big POP. Somehow when your emotions are very high the slider effect on things is much more powerful.

The reason I asked about your place of dwelling, is that sometimes (especially in older structures) the vibration of the occupance moving around on the floor above you can greatly reduce the life of a standard incandescant light bulb. This holds especially true if they have children

Just wondering if this could be a contributing effect to the phenomenon.

And by the way I am not trying to discredit your claim. I personally believe that some people have the ability to produce stronger EM fields than others wich could be the underlining cause this phenomenon.

I haven't done any research on this to be 100% sure, but I believe that humans vibrate at certain frequency's. If you (your molecular make-up/DNA ect...) were vibrating slightly off than others perhapse the dellicate fillaments that reside within the bulb are sensitive enough to pick up on this out of phase frequency, thus reducing there life. I don't know really just a thought. Perhapse I'll do a little research on this and post what I find.

When bulbs blow on me, i usually know it is going to happen as it is happening. seems that somehow i get somehestitation in the flick. Perhaps what I feel instead is some kind of surge or something. I would change out the wall switch if I were you and seeif keeps happening.

We all have electricity flowing inside of us. Just about everyone has seen the bulbs you cup in your hand and they light up. I would also imagine that when a perason gets angry that the energy inside us does increasea bit. I would bet that you have some sort of short cicuit in your wall switch that gets activated when you are in an excitable state. Pleasechange the wall plate and report back.

Already changed the light switch from a plastic one to a metal chrome one a few months ago, and I have put it on upside down and it still has happened a few times.

I think I know what you mean about the brief knowing its going to happen, but this could be the fact we already know we link it to our moods and it all happens so fast...

Remember, its not just this house, it happend far more often in my old home.
