maybe its a distance marker for the anual mars marathon... thats the real reson everyone wasso keen to get to mars was so they could be involved in this interstellar... obviously the spirit has now travelled 19 miles (or whatever unit of measurement they use) in the marathon... its a pity the beagle didnt make it, we could've had two earth representatives
