Should we get rid of the presidential nomination system?

Shouldnt we be able to just vote for whoever we want to be for president? I know we can write in a candidate, but why do our choices have to be limited by what the corrupt parties vote for? I think we should completely get rid of the presidential nominations for president and everyone who wants to run should get to.
