Guy, this is me beating a dead horse, but Sedley is probably not a Mason. He is certainly not an "overlord". He's a left-leaning judge who
opposes the DNA database to start with. Sedley's pronouncements are not policy. His word is not law. He isn't even one of the most influential
voices in his own party or on his own side of the spectrum. He isn't even really in favour of the DNA database. His comments were a reductio ad
absurdum attack on the entire British DNA database policy. He has been both taken out of context and blown out of proportion by a number of media
outlets and well-meaning but ill-informed political bloggers.
