Polish Air Collision

WARSAW -- Two Polish stunt pilots died in a mid-air collision on Saturday during an air show, the show's organizers said.

Looks pretty nasty, just saw this on CNN. Does anyone have any more comprehensive news reports on this?

It was a three plane formation. They had separated during a maneuver and were attempting to rejoin when the two planes slammed together and crashed into a wooded area.

There's a video of the crash at this polish site. The video is showing the crash from two different angles.

Yeah they showed this on the news over here tonight. You can clearly see one of the unfortunate pilots spinning through the air heading towards right of frame. Must have been one hell of an impact to have disintegrated the aircraft so much and ejected the pilot so far. I hope for his sake he died instantly, given the forces involved that's probable. Nothing worse than having a few seconds to think about the ground rushing towards you.

I only saw it the once, did anyone take note of the aircraft type involved?

From the looks of it they use Zlin-50 planes.

Absolutely terrible.

Hope thre team recovers from the loss in due time. Coming back and flying after such a horrific accident can be a nightmare.
