I just did a tour of the Bureau of Printing and Engraving in DC on Tuesday morning. For what it's worth, they claim currency is only printed in DC
and Fort Worth, TX. Pretty cool tour, actually. We saw $320,000 full of 1$ bills, and skids of $100's totally $32,000,000.
95% of the bills printed replace old money that is burned by the Federal Reserve, and 5% goes in as new money.
I doubt the Chinese are printing our money at our request. Counterfeiting it would be another story.
