This week on the show (Friday August 31st)
9 p.m. - Midnight (GMT + 1)

TONIGHT (All times GMT + 1) Tune in HERE

9 p.m. ADRIAN GILBERT
It has taken Adrian several years to writeTHE END OF TIME. Although it brings up to date work contained in his earlier, co-authored book, THE MAYAN PROPHECIES, (now permanently out of print) it is very different in tone. Mayanology continues to be an exciting and fast changing field. Many archaeological discoveries have been made in the ten years since he wrote THE MAYAN PROPHECIES. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the field of archaeo-astronomy. What is becoming clearer by the day is that the ancient Maya were in possession of esoteric knowledge concerning the stars that in many ways mirrors beliefs held in ancient Egypt and Europe. How they came by this knowledge is a matter of heated debate. However, what cannot now be denied is that they based their calendar systems on the movements of stars and planets. Evidence for this can now be read on the walls of their temples, particularly those at Palenque. www.adriangilbert.co.uk...

10 p.m. CHRISTINE ASTELL
Travelling around the UK over the last few years, Chrissie Astell has brought the message of angelic love and healing to thousands, and has taught successful courses on the many varied aspects of spirituality in today's world. She has written several books and recorded guided meditations with composers Llewelyn and Mark Hughes, as well as appearing on BBC's Kilroy "I believe in Angels", ITV's Christmas special "Angels are Everywhere", BBC's Everyman documentary on Angels and as a guest speaker on several local BBC chat shows. www.angellight.co.uk...

Adrian Gilbert was very interesting. a lot of what he said was news to me. I didn't know about the stargate effect of the Kephren pyramid. It's interesting how he mentions the archetypal similarities between the Egyptian and Mayan religions. according to offical history these cultures had no contact at all, separated by the Atlantic Ocean and thousands of years of time, but it's as if they do.

I've heard of the white lions of Africa; they were on the children's TV show "Roar" the other day. But I didn't know that UFO's might have been involved in their unique appearance. I wonder if Adrian has heard of Credo Mutwa. He's a Zulu shaman who says very similar things. There are elements of the archetype in African folk tales, especially stories of "Gods from the stars" and ancient civilizations destroyed by cataclysm, like Noah and Atlantis, Cantref Y Gwaelod etc.

Chrissie was a lovely guest. She looks and sound so peaceful. I was particularly interested in people seeing orbs and lights around a dying person as their lifeforce leaves their body. This is something I've read a bit about myself. I'm in a privileged position, being a hospital porter, to try and witness this personally. I've not seen anything like that yet, but I always keep a good look out for it. Some doctors, nurses and other porters have told me that they've seen strange things around patients and a part of my hospital is said to be haunted. But as Chrissie says, hospitals are always very garishly lit to let the staff see what they're doing; this could hinder your concentration if you're looking out for orbs etc. In past times, people usually died at home so these things were easier to see.

Has anyone seen "The Asphyx"? It's a pretty frightening horror film on this subject. It's about a group of scientists who find a way to capture a dead person's lifeforce and trap it, allowing the person to become immortal. But like nearly all horror films, it bears no resemblance to the real paranormal at all; it's just made up to scare the # out of you!

Skeptics like to portray anyone who believes in the paranormal as a "Woo-woo", but Gary Schwartz proves that some serious scientists do too. If you take seriously what James Randi says then surely this would not be possible! But it is!

Gary Schwartz should be congratulated for exploring this avenue of research and speaking openly about his conclusions. In the world of science and philosophy, as I've said before, there's a rather childish element of machismo. It's become a brave and presitgious thing to be a materialist! If you reject the concept of survival-of-death then it gives you a lot of street-cred, someone who has the guts to face the "awful truth of the finality of existance which the feeble, huddling masses dare not, hiding beneath their comforting blanket of religion." Schwartz will no doubt be seen as a bit like like the little boy who plays still with his teddy bear and wants his mum to walk him to school! Well done for him to sticking by his guns despite that. (Ross, your mate Chris French is the equivalent of the lad who never gets picked on, wins everything on sports day and dates all the pretty girls!)

Thanks for tonight's show, Ross. I really enjoyed it! food for thought is was.

Glad you enjoyed the show and yes I agree with what you say about the guests last night.

I have studied Prof Gary Schwartz's work for some years now and this is the second time he had been on the show. I look forward to meeting him sometime soon.

Adrian Gilbert surprised me tonight by opening up to the possibility of ET intelligence being responsible for the obvious connections between the Mayans and Egyptians. He is a very good researcher and author and this is quite a leap of faith for him to make such a statement. I think he may well be correct too!

It's the first time I had spoken with Chrissie Astell but agree she sounds like she has found a true peace in her life through her studies - something that I guess we all seek to a degree and I look forward to meeting her at the Awaken The Divine Feminine Conferences in Dublin and London in October where we are both speakers.

That conference sounds good, Ross. Hope you enjoy it and find it productive.

I'd love to join you, but I'm going to Probe again instead where I met you in March.

I've been thinking about Christine Astell's interview and it reminded me of something. My great-grandfather died a year ago. He was 99 yeers old and very ill. They took him into hospital to care for him; the same hospital I'm at. I think it would have been better for him to stay at home and go out peacefully in his own bed. It's what he wanted, but my Nan, his daughter, instisted he went into hospital; so they called an ambulance and admitted him to a geriatric ward. He passed away the following morning.

In Chris Everard's film "Spiritword", he says how in traditional societies, elders were left in their own beds when they were dying. All their family gathered round and stayed with them as they passed over and carried out prayers and rituals to help the soul of the departed travel over to the Spiritworld. I wish I'd seen that film before my great-grandfather died. But even so, some of his family were still with him when he passed over. He was a devout Christian and Reverend Fenemore, the hospital chaplain, was also present and I'm sure he did reach the "other side". It's just that in our society we're not encouraged to prepare for our own deaths. In fact it is a taboo subject that few think about because of our indoctrination. Modern hospitals are focused on saving lives no matter what, but there's nothing they could have done for my great-grandfather; he was old and it was "his time". Maybe it would have been better to leave him at home. I should have kicked up a fuss and I'm sorry I didn't. If I live to be as old as him and end up in his position this is what I will insist on. (I won't want to take Bill Hicks' advice and be in the movies!) Maybe by that time the healthcare system will be different and take account of indigenous cultures and their death traditions.
