Sarkozy talks of bombing if Iran gets nuclear arms

www.timesonline.co.uk

President Sarkozy called Iran’s nuclear ambition the world’s most dangerous problem yesterday and raised the possibility that the country could be bombed if it persisted in building an atomic weapon.

The French leader used tough language towards Tehran in the first broad survey of his plans for extending Gallic influence in the world since the start of his hyperactive presidency in May. President Sarkozy also gave full backing to Bernard Kouchner, his Foreign Minister, who was forced to apologise yesterday for calling for the replacement of Nouri al-Maliki, the Iraqi Prime Minister.

It's surprising that French has broken with the European Union approach of a diplomatic solution.

More interesting, it seems Bush now has a French poodle in the White House

Not only a poodle, but a Jewish poodle-and a neo con as well...Bush must think Hanukkah has come early this year...

France have got a louder voice in Europe with their new president. If they support the Iran attack,it may just be what tips the balance in favour of military action.

Sarko is definitely a US poodle. Neocon, law-and-order/clean-up-the-riffraff domestic policies, and saying stuff like this to add to the US-generated Iran echo-chamber.

It is no surprise at all that he took his summer vacation in the US--within driving distance of the Bush-family lair in Kennebunkport--but this has certainly given a lot of the French pause. Rightly so. He operates with the same arrogant, tough luck if you don't like it attitude that is the hallmark of the Bush presidency.

Merkel, Brown & Sarko running the big three EU countries gives the US great room for maneuver.
