France's Sarkozy raises prospect of Iran airstrikes

PARIS (Reuters) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Monday a diplomatic push by the world's powers to rein in Tehran's nuclear program was the only alternative to "an Iranian bomb or the bombing of Iran."

Well this certainly heats things up. What interests would the French have? I thought they were going to HELP Iran get sanctioned Nuclear power?

I remember reading that Mr. Sarkozy was rather Pro-Israel. Perhaps that's what has prompted his statement ?
Other than that I don't know of anything that would warrant French participation in any aggressive move against Iran. I wonder what the French people think of this statement?
