Sometimes an artist comes around that defies genre's. Johnny Cash is a good example. You can like metal, country, grunge, whatever BUT everyone like Cash. Is Jimmy any different? He just makes people happy. Do we have any "parrotheads" here? A few Buffett tunes:

Come Monday:

Son of a Son of a Sailor:

Fruitcakes:

I love that one.

Cheeseburger in Paradise:

www.youtube.com...

And the one everyone knows.......... Margaritaville:

www.youtube.com...

This old guy is a metal head, Purple, Zepp, Queen, etc BUT when I want to chill and relax Jimmy does it.

One of my favorites!

For some reason I can't think of Buffett without thinking of Jim Croce.

Anyway, GOOD STUFF!

Just for you, Intrepid. I've been a fan for a long time, so I suppose I am a "parrothead".

I've always been a fan. Never got to see him in concert though.

WELL WELL WELL!! Mr intrepid sir
- you never cease to amaze me. I love Jimmy Buffet. When i was in the US a couple of his songs we played at venues were Cheeseburger in Paradise; Margaritaville and He went to Paris. I love his music.

Hey, perhaps, if you allow me to honour him, I will do a podcast with He Went to Paris or Margaritaville

I love Johnny Cash. He is an absolute legend. Pity he has passed but i guess he was getting on. Sometimes when I travel i have a cd with Cash songs on and i usually throw that in about half way into the trip and wakes the brain up cos i can't help adding my vocals hehehe

AHHHHHHH great song kinglizard!! Being a guitarist myself and i play the same style, fingerpick mostly, i have always loved Jim's music. I love the tone these guitars have. Ahhhh... I had a couple of Jim's CDs but They have disappeared over the years - friends!!

Anyways, nice post!
