I've clicked on Lex's doomsday clock, and noticed that it sits at: 5 mins. to midnight

I wonder how often the site is updated?

It's strikingly close to the '2 minutes to midnight' song from Iron Maiden.

I've read all the above posts and want to let you know that I'm NOT on a doom n' gloom swing, but becoming more and more familiar with what's going on around me.

Knowing that a mere handful of people have the whole world in their hands, as their fingers vicariously hover over the launch buttons, is not re-assuring. This is when the feelings of helplessness kick in.

Just like all of you, I strive to maintain a sense of normalacy and sanity around me. Living my life to the fullness.

And yet...

The sword of Damacles swings back and forth, inching its way ever closer.
