I dont know about them being in the mars race but they have shown an interest in joining the space race

But we all know the world will come to an end in 2012 so uhh..

2033? No, George Dubya ( ) Already made the annoucement that in 10 years, the U.S. will hope to have a base on the moon, where they can launch missions to other planets and such, easier, and more cost effective. Within 20 years, he wants a manned mission to Mars. This would make it 2024, not 2033
