Helicopter fly bys indicate war is ahead

Saw two of those same helicopters fly overhead going Northeast while golfing in Palm Beach FL yesterday. Was really suprised by how big they were. I watch theskies allthetime and first time I have seen such helicopters.

ive live less than a mile from a marine corp air station for the better part of 25 years there has always been a large volume of air traffic war or no. when i say large volume i mean non stop 24 hours a day unless there was lightning or a hurricane. i must say at least this is a sign that the boys are getting the training that they need..

The usual black copter fly by happened again today with 2 more that I know of since my last post. The second fly by circled a cereal factory. I really need to start bringing the camera to work!

Well, the constant day to day military helicoptes have seemed to stop, but I couldnt help but notice that the trains are running like crazy. That is what i always noticed prior to going to war, or things heating up over there. In the days before opperation annaconda, there were even trains that rolled at night with serious helicopter escorts. I recently moved to the other end of town, so I couldnt tell you about the night trains, but considering the amount of trains running during the day, i would assume they have stared back up again. Perhaps it is just because of where we are located....a 20 min. drive from a large army ammunition plant.

Holy poo... my sister's and my school is in an old army base, and recently there have been a crapload of helicopters flying over our school. Of two in the last two days, one was black, one was gray, and neither had any markings.

Ok, I may be "the new guy", but I feel as though I need to correct a few things.

1. I cant remember who posted it, but the large helicopter flying at a high altitude over the greogia mountains was probably Marine One (the US Presidents helicopter). There is a base out that way wich Bush goes to often. Also the poster said that he heard some at 3 in the morning, this can be explained by saying the fallowing: wars dont just take place during the day.

2. Many people have said to have seen "unmarked" helicopters. Most of the US helicopters are either Olive Drab, or Black. Now if you put "US Army" in black letters on either of those colors and place the helicopter farther than a few feet away, you will not be able to read it, let alone even tell if there are words writen on it. Besides its going 100mph+, so it would be hard to read even if the words were painted neon-green.

3. The US Air Force conducts refueling missions over the Great Lakes almost everyday.

4. Unmarked Jets- please see last sentence in #2.

5. Increased military presence in desert areas. This one isnt hard, this is wear the wars seem to place these days, so thats wear they are going to train.

I have lived on military bases for years..............all the stuff mentioned means nothing.

In fact, as I sit here I get to hear the sound of tanks blowing things up while dozens of copters fly over us day and night.

What it means? Exercises. Thats it. And sometimes squadrons (well, we are air force) visit other places to do their exercises. Therefore that base will see an increase in aircraft and activity.

Again.............all it means are they are traning.

In order to be good at your job, you must train. Year around.


Lord, I can only imagine what is being said when we host other countries for join military exercises - which happens thruout the year. People must get really freaked and start a zillion rumours here when they see Japanese aircraft flying over. LOL

In the last week to 10 days, I've seen an AWAC type plane landing at the Asheville (NC) airport, countless cargo planes, a few Blackhawks, A pair of Osprey's taking off from the Asheville airport, and a steady stream of high-flying aircraft on a nightly basis. I can't tell what type those are, since it's after dark and high-altitude. They take the same route as we saw leading up to the invasion of Iraq, flying a North east to South west path, in convoys of 6 to 10 planes. Some appear to move slowly, like a cargo plane, and are followed by fast-movers. Just a little update! Andy

Edit for this: there are no bases in my area, so why are they training here? Last time I saw this level of activity was pre-Iraq.

Normal training flights are cyclic in nature, for example, they train right before they deploy and "rest" or perform routine maintenance while back in the states. I worked in the Army Program Managers Office (PMO) which was (is) responsible for repairing all of the aviation assets returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Aircraft would return from theatre and be repaired at multiple sites while the unit was in their down status. It was not uncommon for aircraft from the 101st Division to be repaired at a location in Texas. Any area near a major Army Division (Ft. Bragg, NC, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Ft. Hood, Texas, etc.) would see a large number of multi-ship formations arriving/departing their home station.

Seeimg a large number of aircraft at a single time or an increased frequency of flights in an area is not an indicator of something nefarious occurring.

I can't speak for the other armed forces, but this is probably what you are witnessing in your above posts.

I have to agrre with the majority on this one, when preparing for a military conflict then it makes sense that increased activity would be noticed.

Thing is this, we know The Pentagon has drawn up attack plans, but we dont know how far along the chronology we are, all we can be sure of is that it has to happen before the end of 2008, while Bush still has office.

One Question, where would wargames factor into this, i.e russia/china

Not only that...but the government's fiscal year begins in Oct. So many times you wont see any flying activity for weeks before the new fiscal year. Then after a base gets their money, all of a sudden they are flying what seems like non stop.

Another thing, is if they need to get in a number of sorties by such and such time, they will do a ton of flying. That may include flying outside their normal schedule and flight path.

Got that right. No flying the last two weeks of the fiscal year, then when you get the money, they seem to be trying to cram in a million flying hours the first two weeks!

I live in north texas, about 10 miles north of dallas in a little suburb kinda. Usually all I see are medical center helicopters flying by 4-5 times a day. Just about 10 mins ago, a flight of 5 black helicopters with a red stripe saying something on their side near the bottom. Not really sure what it said but they were freaking loud and i had my music up pretty loud in my room. I know they were huey model helicopters. Not sure of any military bases around me.

Nevermind I just found out theres an airshow at a nearby airpot. A b-24 also flew by earlier so ya, nothing bad.

How about Israeli/French Mirage "looking" single engined, diamond shaped fighter jets taking off from .. Patrick Henry Williamsburg International Airport, near Williamsburg, Virginia?

And troop transport army helicopters that are twin rotored, front and rear, painted green and hovering just over the tops of the trees, dangerously close in my opinion, flying over the entire section of my town, which is residential and wooded, flying in the general direction of the Naval Weapons Station, near the York River?

Theres a constant blackhawk looking helicopter patrolling the perimeter of the airport, it buzzes my house every day. it flies rather low as well, so low I have to take care of what I am doing in my backyard at the time.

Well, rest assured I will be in the prime fallout area of one of the first nukes to land, which you know they would hit Norfolk Naval Base with (largest in the world). Also, the main production facility of all of our Navy ships is in my city! And my city is surrounded by military bases of various kinds, including a CIA base and a Nuclear Weapons Station.

I hope I get one of my early warnings that I give myself when I freak out about something I foresee happening so I don't have to build a shelter in the center of my home to try to survive the radiation, if i didnt die in the blast(s).

My plan? I-64 to Richmond, then I-85 into the Appalachian Mts baby. About a 4 hour drive from good mountains.

I am a soldier at fort sill and i have lived here for about 8 years. in all this time that i've been here i have only ever experienced high air traffic once and that was in 2003 january and december 2002. Right now it is 6 am and a squadron of black hawks just flew over my barracks. there was about 8 of them all together. and this happens all day. all day long and all night long i hear helicopter blades whether it be close by or out in the distance. something is happening here. we've also had an increase in high ranking visits. men and women walking around the headquarters buildings looking like people out of men and black carrying strange looking suitcases. i have no idea what is about to happen but this doesn't look good
