War on Terror: 1 trillion plus, rent for Gitmo: $4085 / mo, Cuba not cashing checks? Priceless

Acording to Fidel, Cuba has only once cashed the monthly $4085.00 dollar rent that the US pays for Gitmo. That one occurance was due to a mistake. It apparently is a form of protest to what the Cubans feel is an illegal US occupation.

It is not Cubans who "feel the U.S. is illegally in Guantanamo"...it is the Cuban regime who wants them out.

i really fail to see what is so "priceless" about the "Cuban regime" not accepting these checks...

The Cuban regime had nuclear warheads installed and pointing at the U.S., and if the Cuban regime could, they would now also have nuclear warheads pointing at the U.S.

The U.S. should not close Guantanamo, at least not yet.

I still want to find out what is so "priceless" about this news.

Was it because of the missiles stationed by the americans in Turkey?

By the time that the Turkish Jupiters had been installed, the missiles were already largely obsolete and increasingly vulnerable to Soviet attacks. President John F. Kennedy ordered the removal of all Jupiter IRBMs upon taking office in 1961. The Air Force, however, delayed removal and the President was infuriated to learn that they had not yet been removed more than a year later. All Jupiter IRBM's were removed from service by April 1963, by this point a maneuver useful as a backdoor trade with the Soviets, in exchange for their earlier removal of IRBMs from Cuba.

castro was, and still is, alongside some others in the Cuban regime, crazy. He would have loved to have used those missiles, if you were Cuban you would know this.

There are stories in the island that still some people state castro has even rigged Cuba with explosives, because he would rather destroy Cuba than allow change.

Quite often do we see some of our "socialist/revolutionary" members in these forums post about attacks planned by the U.S. on Cuba, but never have i seen any of these same people post about any of the attacks that the Cuban regime has been planning against the U.S., or the "revolutionary wars" or the spread of the revolution that the cuban regime has been doing around the world by sending soldiers, or training terrorists in other countries.

How many spies have we caught in the U.S. that were working for castro and were even in the employment of the U.S. government, because the U.S. government had no idea of who they were really working for?...

Anyways... i still don't see what's so "priceless" about the Cuban regime not cashing in the checks....

why not Just move the Base to US soil

on a side i thought the US was paying more for the area that base must occupy

I'm sure if it was a considerable larger sum, Cuba would be the first in line to cash the check.

Instead, they deny the meager check, and in turn makes him look like a "hero" to his supporters.
