Boeing 747 on approach: How low can you go?

Didn't know where to put this, but I figured people who frequent this forum would enjoy this video.

It's of one of the lowest landings over a beach I've ever seen!

You've got to watch the third plane come in for a landing, he's so low it looks like he almost hit a car.

Impressive! I wouldn't want to be standing directly underneath that.

I think THAT picture shows how low those planes are coming in better than the video does!

This one comes up every now and again - think the reason they are all big jumbos is that they want to keep as little traffic there as poss (big plane = more passengers = less landing / take offs)

I think the fence gets wreaked every so often.

I like the story about the locals on the beach, when the 747's line up for take off (right at the end of the runway cos they need it all) the locals grab their dogs, wade out into the sea a bit and as the plain throttles up they lob the dogs right up into the jet blast and send em flying out to sea!! (never seen that confirmed though)

You know what is better??? I have been there right at that very same beach

In 2002 my family and i went to holiday to the Dutch Antilles to celebrate the fact that we back then lived 10 years ago, and we landed on St Maarten and had to wait until we could get the flight that lead us directly to the Antilles. While waiting we went to that beach
