Personally, I think that member for member, the Eagles were the greatest collection of musical talent ever assembled, even moreso one could argue, than the Beatles.

This is my tribute thread to the Eagles as a whole and to the members' solo careers. I want to start out with a few of my favorites.

Lyin' Eyes- A story of secret love and regret.

Those Shoes- A dark story of looking for love in all the wrong places.

And this one I saw on TV. It's Joe Walsh's Life's Been Good played by the Eagles.

God, I hope these guys live forever!!!

Feel free to post your favorites.

Peace

well, my favorite would be a post mothers, frank zappa ensamble(sp)
thinking early to mid/late 70's era..
THAT would be the most talented group of musicians, IMO right there.

these threads are so great because everyones taste is different and we all might get turned on to new stuff.

beatles? i'm getting worn out on the beatles but their influence can not be denied.

Thanks for the memories! I can remember cruising with my boyfriend in his car with our friends all over town just blasting this song. Enjoy!

Why because Take It Easy was mainly written by Browne? Great song, but please, the Eagles did pretty well without Browne's help. Jackson Browne couldn't carry the Eagles' jock, hell, Jackson Browne couldn't carry Don Henley's jock. He just wanted to be a solo performer and beat women.

On topic:

In the City

Take It To the Limit- This song just doesn't sound right without Meisner's vocals.

Peace

no, but you have to admit, that was a nice little gift....it launched them. jackson was very influencial on them....i have my reasons....read a book maybe..

oh, nice little dig with the allegations of him hitting daryl hannah...

we all have out opininions and mine is that he is a much better musician than any single member of the eagles....absolutely.

ok, now you guys can get back to it....

you know what, yes. they wouldn't be what they are had it not been for browne writing that song...that was the catalyst that launched them and it is still one of their top songs....so, yeah.

Here's the new Eagles song How Long.

I hate the fact that I can't get into this song! They're still my all-time favorite though.

Peace

Yeah... The Eagles...

I really like them, however I must admit that someone took one of thier songs and made it better...

Try Vince Gill's - I Can't Tell You Why.

I love the Eagles but to my way of thinking there is only one Rock and Roll band. The rest are more Pop and not really rock and roll.
