This doesn't surprise me at all, especially when taken into consideration they are already storing DNA.

Do they know something we don't ?

What is the hurry now to get to the moon and Mars?

Just like the Annunaki

The moon should be developed as a sanctuary for civilization in case of a cataclysmic cosmic impact, according to an international team of experts.

No big surprise really.

Ever since the first super asteroid strikes were discovered scientists have been concerned
about this and proposing such plans.

Personally, considering how many disasters are possible, I think it's a good
idea and should be done as soon as possible.

So who will get to go?

Does this mean that the normal ordinary every day person will be left behind?

Well I don't expect people would be allowed to go into the facilities, but I suspect
it will be done in the next twenty years or so.

Good question,

Leaders, scientists, dear god politicians, the beautiful people I imagine, lol,

Who do you think will go?

The project is'nt meant to send up people like that, though there would be scientific staff there.

It would be to preserve enough genetic material from the species of Earth to
repopulate it in the case that massive amounts of species were to go extinct in the case
of a catastrophic disaster.

It would also have huge archives of Human knowledge, since a disaster like that
would destroy all but the most heavily protected Terrestrial digital and physical
information libraries/archives.

Will there be enough room for two of every animal?

Is this being proposed because we can, because we should or because we have to. There's that predicted near-miss coming up around 2029 as I recall.

This reminds me of an Advertisement that I once saw fo Lockheed that showed a close up on an astronauts helmet, and in the reflection you could see that all of the planets were aligned and the caption read something like "We will be ready, will you" or something like that. I wish I could find it. If anyone has any old copies of space Magazine from a few years ago, check on the very back page. I wish I could find it again. It seemed very cryptic.

They can barely get a handfull of people into space now..so you better narrow down to 6 picks..

Of course. The average person's job is to fund the machine of world dominance.

It's a good idea for humanity but if a disaster does happen I figure the average person will be left out again in the recovery, assuming any are left. Can't save everyone so those in charge will save themselves.

Well most likely, like Enki, mostly it will be the DNA, with a few scientists, who will forever thereafter be know as, "The GODS."

Notice the god Enki warns the hero Atrahasis known as the Extremely Wise to build a boat? Extremely wise as in scientist?

Now the human noise vexed the chief god Enlil so much that he persuaded the divine assembly to vote the destruction of man by the deluge.

The decision, that mankind is to be destroyed
has been made.

"Tear down the house, build a ship!
Give up possessions, seek thou life!
Forswear belongings, keep soul alive!
Aboard ship take thou the seed of all living things.
That ship thou shalt build;
Her dimensions shall be to measure."
- Sumerian Text

And so Enki was able to persuade the other gods not only to spare Ziusudra but to give him eternal life as a reward for having saved all living things from destruction."

"The 'Eridu Genesis'

And so there is nothing new under the sun, the angels still ride the whirlwind.
