Peter MacKay has replaced Gordon O'Connor as the Minister of National Defence.

Gordon O'Connor has seen a bit of controvercey while he was in in that position, such as his letter to Donald Rumsfeld and the demand for his resignation over the abuse scandal in Afghanistan.

Will Peter MacKay do better?

McKay proved himself to be without honour when he broke his promise to David Orchard and dumped the Progressive Conservatives, creating this neocon abomination that rules us today.

As such, he'll surely be a much more shameless liar than O'Connor ever was. Whether that's 'better' is a matter of opinion, isn't it?

Peter McKay will do exactly what the PM wants’ him to do and nothing else.

He does not have the political or military back ground that is required to hold the post of Minister of National Defence.

If it wasn't for the fact the General Hiller hates politicians to the very core of militaristic bones, thank god he does, and I would petition to have him in the position of Minister of National Defence.

He's well liked by the troops and politicians are afraid of him.
