In my blog today, I talk about how I stated some time back that I felt someone had died in our house from a stroke. On Saturday it was confirmed by
our landlord. See blog.myspace.com...
I find it strange how we can often pick up on these "spirits" and especially as other people who stayed her over the weekend who knew NOTHING about
this, reported seeing a ghost here!

great blog! i was wondering if you can tell me on how to go about finding the history of a particular place. the reason i ask is because at the house
im currently in, weird things happen in the kitchen area and bathroom. also at night you can hear something walking around in the attic. now some of
my friends have stated it could be rats or raccons or some animal in the attic and i would in turn tell them yes it can but it is usually something
walking around so hevayin the attic you can hear the floorboards creak. in turn they reply trhats the house setteling, but at 2am? in the kitchen
stuff willbe moved or misplaced often, a pot that was somewhere the night before will be moved to a diffrent place the next morning same with utensils
and kitchen towls. the bathroom gives me the creeps bc it seems like theres something there. ive also seen some strang shapes in the other rooms and
last nite i swear i saw a face in the hallway when i went to turn the ac down.

There are many tests you can carry out, but the best advice is to get a local paranormal research team in who have all the necessary equipment already
and can carry out tests for you.
What area are you in?

In my experience, based on from when I was a kid before I stopped seeing ghosts...
Some are echoes, some seem to be oblivious to our presence, and some are aware and even try to communicate with us (usually not speech).
They could be thought forms, or living in a dimension beside ours, or disembodied spirits, or other sentient beings who don't require a physical
body.
Then there's poltergeists which are just emotionally charged thought forms.

Yes, parapschology thinking now indicates that there are three types of phenomena that fall into the category of "ghost phenomena":-
1) The Quartz Crystal Theory - whereby quartz in the brickwork of older buildings stores and replays images of the past. These are normally the same
images and non-interactive with humans.
2) The interactive haunting:- whereby a spirit or consciousness remains within a building or attaches itself to a person and can interact with that
person ie through sound, touch, smell or vision.
3) The inter-dimensional presence:- who is haunting who? If someone is actually alive and well in a parallel dimension and slips through the wafer
thin gauze between worlds then it maybe YOU appear as the ghost to them!
I have written extensively about the above theories in my current book The Dead Are Talking.

My Dad died 2 1/2 years ago and someone once told me that when I'm thinking of him it means that he's "around". I must say that sometimes the
"feeling" of his presence is quite strong even when I wouldn't necessarily expect it. Granted I'm sure some of it is my own thoughts and wishes
projected into the circumstances but I have come to firmly belief that there are times when his "spirit" is lingering about.
Other than that, I have never experienced any "physical" manifestations of ghosts or the like. I have never heard or seen anything out of the
ordinary in that regard. For all intents and purposes, I'm quite boring it seems. Oh well, at least I hang out in a trendy spot (that would be
here).

That's an interesting theory. I guess it's quite possible.

I have seen the odd thing over the tears but no real full blown apparition, just enough to make me wonder what the 'eck is that?
I too wonder if those thoughts of loved ones lost are mere thoughts or an acceptance at a spiritual level of their presence. I have felt hairs on my
neck go up at haunted houses. When I am meditating and the thought of a loved one enters my mind, I am sure I can feel them touch my cheek. There is
always a warm feeling about me too. Sometimes, I do talk out loud as if they are there hiding from me!!
On at least one occassion I swear I saw an "orb" (it was like a large soap bubble!!) about six foot in front and to the right of me. I called out
"Is there someone here?" It didn't answer back!! and although I got no feeling of whom it was...I felt warm, comfortable and a smile was on my
face, like I knew I was meant to be happy!!! No idea what it was or if I was just daydreaming.
For me the jury is still out. I believe that there is more than science can tell us. But whether my experiences are loved ones entering my
subconsciousness or whether it is just brain chemistry reacting to a the familiarity of a thought...there's the thing?
I wonder if I will ever really know?

I often think the same thing "will any of us EVER really know"?
I have seen the full blown "apparition" on several occasions, but how can we be sure that this is not something from another dimension rather than
ghosts of the dead?

I guess Boss, that ultimately we may know when we pass over... and even then, it is dependant on what level of consciousness we have when when we
go.....if that is indeed what happens.
I am curious what a full blown apparition looks like. Is there a translucency or subtle distortion of shape.. for example?
There does seem to be enough accounts to indicate that something is going on. But I am curious as to what. Is it really a recording or time-shifting
from this world or is there...millimetres away in a parallel world...a puzzled looking entity staring at Nomadrush?
Kind of reminds me of a solo album or single cover by Queens, Drummer...Roger Taylor called "Fun in Space". It had two pictures, one was with RT
reading a magazine with an alien on the front...and the other picture was an alien looking at the same magazine with RT on the front!!!

But, Ross, what do you think "ghosts" are?
(Please note that the quotation marks do not signify that the phenomenon is doubtful in itself. It's just that it covers many very different
apparitions and other phenomena, that's all.)
They would be, by definition, from a dimension different from the physical reality we inhabit with our ordinary senses.

UPDATE-
I did a little experiment over the week I had off from work, because the lights in the living room started flickering when I started my vacation. I
went to Wal-Mart bought new bulbs and replaced them all, made sure the connections were ok and put the new bulbs in. they worked great for the first
couple of days and on the 3rd day they started flickering again. Now with my gf in the other room and my son at school I stated bluntly to the empty
room to stop messing with the lights. Surprisingly it did. That evening it did it again and I said the same thing and sure enough it worked. After a
couple of times doing this my gf asked me who I was talking to and I told her our “buddy” in the house. Last night at about 11pm the lights in the
living room started flickering again she looked at me all worried and I told her to tell it to stop and she did and sure enough it stopped. She
freaked a little but I think its all good now. So I came to the conclusion that w/e is in the house, it just wants to have fun so I’m not that
worried now.

I think you should still be careful... sometimes a little fun for them can turn into a nightmare for you. An ex-friend and I used to play with Oujia .
Her house was really haunted I think... espcially upstairs... stuff kept on being moved, footsteps, smells, and one day when we were alone in the
house the lights flickerd on and off... the vcr clock kept on going from normal to blinking... we looked outside to see a man standing in her yard, we
blinked he was gone... next minute she turned to me, yelled, her eyes were red and she attacked me. Scared the crap outta us when her eyes turned back
to normal.

Wow that is really interesting. I think it is great how you just knew that someone had died there and it was true!
