Amok is a Malay word. Of course we don't use it "as is", it sounds weird that way. It's usually combined with the prefix meng which basically means "to" as in mengamuk, that is, "to run amok".

By the way the new local spelling for the word is "amuk" even though it's pronounced "amok" ("o" in oranges instead of "u" in Uma [Thurman]). I prefer the old spelling. More intuitive.

And the Hippo will nudge her baby right in the middle of a few crocks floating in shallow water and dare em to mess with her baby. I wonder how the crock knows not to make one wrong move?

Interesting V1. Maybe my "unsual facts" book is wrong. But it said crocks eat more people than anything else.
