what do you mean?

Trippy as in if I brainstormed, I don't even think a talking mongoose named Gef would ever pop into my head! And yet, here it is, having a mythology rooted in someone's experiences.

Looney Tunes immediately came to mind, and Goofy Gophers in particular.

You can teach a dog to understand what you say but it still can't talk because it's vocal cords can't say the words. You can teach a cat to understand what you say but it rarely does what you want it to. The white footed mouse sings a pleasing song when it is happy. Many animals have the intellect to talk but cannot talk because the structure of their vocal chords and tongue does not allow it. Other animals lack the development of the right part of the brain to speak but still understand. If man is so smart why hasn't he learned to speak and understand the language of other species in the world.

there is a theory that the mongoose was posessed by a spirit and that is was the spirit talking. at the time gef was described as a poltergeist (that name was often used for any type of paranormal event in those days)

What was the name of the children's book? I've been looking for it for years.
