Russia resumes nuke bomber sorties

www.cnn.com

Russia's strategic bombers have resumed the Soviet Union's Cold War practice of flying long-haul missions to areas patrolled by NATO and the United States, generals said on Thursday.
A Russian bomber flew over a U.S. military base on the Pacific island of Guam on Wednesday and "exchanged smiles" with U.S. pilots who had scrambled to track it, said Maj. Gen. Pavel Androsov, head of long-range aviation in the Russian air force.

i think russia just kinda feels left out from the rest of the world...it had the worlds attention, right next to the US for most of the century...then the wall fell, they went all democratic, and kindof took a back seat....

or maybe it's antagonizing america...to start some other cold war type thing....in order to jump start it's technology making and what nots....
there were great advances by both countries during those years...
