Wrong Jimbo, if you include the Fenian raids, it's 3 times.

Let's check out the North Pole. It seems that there is definitely a confluence of interests here. Looking at islands and such, the US has no claim, same with Norway. To me it looks like a 3 way between Canada, Denmark(via Greenland) and Russia(via Franz Josef Land). Whittling that down, it looks like a 2 way race between Denmark and Canada. THAT one will be tough to prove.

The magnetic North Pole is always moving and if we are in for a polar shift what will that do to everyones claims? Will the geographic position of the North Pole be legally changed if there indeed is one?

A valid point. The magnetic Pole just moved into Russia this year. It might make a difference. Might also have to do with the timing of this claim.

Hmmm...maybe we should grab the Antartic too while were at it, while all this confusion as to location pervades. I wonder if the russians know which end is up??
Canadian Diplomat: 'Sure comrades - go ahead and lay claim to the Antartic if you wish - it's all yours...we won't interfere...ahem, honest!'
